In his opening remarks, Mr. Vu Tuan Dat, Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen So Ward, emphasized: Organizing the Month of Action for Children and summer activities in 2026 is not simply a movement event, but more importantly, it is about establishing a genuine coordination mechanism between families, schools, localities, organizations, and the community so that children are managed, cared for, protected, and supported in a timely manner throughout the summer vacation.

According to Mr. Vu Tuan Dat, there are nearly 8,000 children in the ward. In the context of a rapidly developing digital society, alongside opportunities for learning and accessing knowledge, children also face many risks such as violence, abuse, injuries, drowning, and online dangers. Therefore, building a safe and healthy living environment for children requires the concerted efforts of the entire political system and society as a whole.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen So Ward requested the Department of Culture and Social Affairs to continue to play its role as the standing agency, proactively monitoring, advising, and urging the implementation of summer activities; schools should closely coordinate with the locality in managing students, educating them on accident and injury prevention, drowning prevention, and safe use of social media. At the same time, the Youth Union, the Ward Police, the Health Station, and neighborhood groups need to strengthen cultural activities, life skills training, and ensure the security and safety of children during the summer.

In particular, Mr. Vu Tuan Dat emphasized the role of families in accompanying, listening to, and protecting their children from dangers in the online environment and in society. "No child should be left behind, no child should lack attention during the summer break" is a consistent requirement set by the ward leaders for neighborhood groups and child welfare workers at the grassroots level.
At the ceremony, Tran Van Khanh, a student from Chu Van An Secondary School and representative of the children of Yen So ward, delivered a speech in response to the 2026 Action Month for Children. “As students growing up in the digital age, we understand that alongside many opportunities for learning and exploration, there are still risks that need to be guarded against. We promise to use social media and the internet in a civilized and safe manner; to say no to negative things; to study diligently, practice life skills, and to be united and help our friends,” Tran Van Khanh shared.

Through this program, Yen So ward continues to spread the message of building a safe and humane living environment for children in both real life and online space. This is also an opportunity to raise community awareness about the responsibility of caring for and protecting children; and to promote the coordinated role between families, schools, and society in managing and educating children during the summer.
At the ceremony, representatives from schools and departments in the ward signed a commitment to cooperate and hand over students to participate in summer activities in the locality. The agreement focused on strengthening the leadership and guidance role of the Party committee and government, creating conditions for children to participate in appropriate activities, have a safe and beneficial summer vacation, and improve self-protection skills and risk prevention in daily life and online.

On this occasion, Yen So ward honored and awarded prizes to 41 students with outstanding achievements in the 2015-2026 school year; presented 18 prizes in the "I Draw a Green Yen So" competition; and also provided gifts to support 73 children with special and difficult circumstances in the area. These gifts not only serve as encouragement but also demonstrate the concern and responsibility of the Party committee, government, and community towards the care and protection of children.
