According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of a cold front, from the afternoon of May 7th to May 8th, the Northern and North Central regions of Vietnam will experience moderate rain, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain exceeding 100mm.
During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and hail; heavy rain may cause flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas; in the northeastern part of the North East Sea, there will be strong northeasterly winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8.

To proactively respond to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, hail, flooding, flash floods, landslides, and strong winds at sea, the National Steering Committee for Civil Defense requests the People's Committees of provinces and cities to closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins on weather developments, cold fronts, heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, hail, and the risk of flash floods and landslides; promptly inform local authorities and the public to proactively take appropriate preventive measures; and have local forces ready to promptly assist people in overcoming the consequences.
For strong winds at sea (coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Quang Ngai ), closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins and the development of strong winds at sea; inform captains and owners of vessels operating at sea to proactively take preventive measures and plan production accordingly, ensuring the safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle any adverse situations that may occur.
