The above content was shared and commented on by many people with conflicting opinions. Some people said that a plate of fried rice for 200,000 VND is expensive, but others said that such a price is acceptable at tourist destinations.
According to the investigation, the incident happened at BG seafood restaurant, Cua Viet commune, Quang Tri province. Ms. NTXD, the restaurant owner, said that at around 9:00 p.m. on June 28, 6 guests came to the restaurant to order food. At this time, many restaurants along the beach were closed, the group of guests were welcomed by Ms. D. and clearly informed of the prices of each dish.
“The group ordered clams, I said there were only large purple clams left, priced at 150,000 VND/bowl and we agreed. A large plate of seafood fried rice, including 4 large shrimps and thinly sliced squid, I quoted 200,000 VND, and only made it after the customer agreed,” Ms. D. shared.
Ms. D. also said that when the food was brought out, the group of guests wanted to return it, but she explained that the food could not be destroyed once it was prepared. If they did not use it, they would have to take it home and pay for it.
"When we argued, I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, so I took 350,000 VND for a bowl of purple clams, a plate of fried rice, and 5 cans of soft drinks. But the next day, they posted a clip of the fried rice on social media, claiming that they were being ripped off," Ms. D. added.
Believing that she did not sell at a high price and that the price had been agreed upon in advance, Ms. D. reported to the local authorities, requesting clarification.

Many social media accounts have shared and reposted the clip (Photo: Nhat Anh).
Mr. TQ, the owner of the social media account that posted the clip, said that he was upset and posted the post because he could not return the food he ordered. Realizing that the post would affect the restaurant's business, Mr. Q. proactively deleted the content and wanted to close this story.
However, many social media accounts have re-shared Mr. Q's clip with incomplete content, making the incident even more controversial.
According to the leader of Cua Viet Commune People's Committee, this is the peak tourist season, the spread of unverified information on social networks has affected the reputation of many shops at Cua Viet beach.
The leader recommends that tourists and residents who have complaints about service prices should immediately report them to the government or relevant agencies for timely resolution, avoiding misunderstandings and negative impacts on the business activities of coastal households.
