President Luong Cuong meets with Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives

Welcoming President Luong Cuong to visit the Egyptian House of Representatives, House Speaker Hanafy El Gebaly emphasized that the Vietnamese people are worthy of the admiration of the international community for having overcome many challenges and difficulties to gain many impressive achievements in socio -economic development.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives expressed his delight at the important and substantive results achieved by the two countries after the talks between President Luong Cuong and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, affirming that President Luong Cuong's state visit is a clear demonstration of the determination of the leaders and people of the two countries in further deepening bilateral relations.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives believes that the visit will create new momentum for the comprehensive development of bilateral relations in all fields, making a positive contribution to resolving regional and international issues.

President Luong Cuong expressed his impression of the beautiful country of Egypt, developed from a brilliant civilization, and was moved by the warm feelings and the cordial and respectful welcome that the Egyptian leaders and people gave to the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

Sharing about the two countries' announcement to upgrade their relations to Comprehensive Partnership and the adoption of many cooperation documents in important fields, the President hoped that the Egyptian House of Representatives would continue to further support the strengthening of the Vietnam-Egypt Comprehensive Partnership; and monitor and promote the effective implementation of cooperation agreements reached between the two countries.

Appreciating the role of the Vietnamese National Assembly in building and perfecting the legal system, Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy El Gebaly expressed his desire to promote parliamentary cooperation between the two sides on both bilateral and multilateral levels; suggested that the two sides increase the exchange of high-level delegations and all levels, further promote cooperation in the fields of economics, trade and investment; and wished to welcome more Vietnamese people to travel and study at Egyptian universities.

The President affirmed that Vietnam wishes to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries through parliamentary channels; and asked the Egyptian House of Representatives to support the implementation of major orientations to promote bilateral relations in an increasingly effective, substantive and comprehensive manner, including the early signing of cooperation agreements to create a complete legal framework for bilateral cooperation.

In addition to monitoring the effective implementation of high-level commitments, President Luong Cuong and the Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives agreed to enhance cooperation in sharing legislative experience, coordinating and supporting each other at international forums, organizations and the world inter-parliamentary forum. The two sides agreed to study the early establishment of a Friendship Parliamentarians Association to share and exchange legislative information.

On this occasion, President Luong Cuong conveyed the respectful invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to the Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives to visit Vietnam soon; the Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives expressed his great desire to visit Vietnam soon and will make arrangements in the near future.
