National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attends the 60th anniversary celebration of the Academy of Finance

At the Anniversary Ceremony, Associate Professor, Doctor, People's Teacher, Party Secretary, Director of the Academy of Finance Nguyen Trong Co reviewed the 60-year history of the Academy's establishment and development. The Academy has trained about 15,000 high-quality human resources for the country, including over 500 PhDs, nearly 10,000 masters of economics for the country and neighboring countries Laos, Cambodia...

60 years of construction and development

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue awarded the First Class Labor Medal (for the third time) to the Academy of Finance.

On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his emotion and pride when returning to the school where he was trained and practiced during his time studying Course 12 (Faculty of Accounting); and at the same time, he worked here for nearly 23 years, from the position of lecturer, Head of Department to Vice Principal. The National Assembly Chairman sent the best wishes to the Academy, teachers, scientists, officials, civil servants, students, and trainees of the Academy through the periods.

The National Assembly Chairman reviewed the historical milestones in the formation and development of the Academy over the past 60 years. Generations of teachers and students of the school have always maintained solidarity, made efforts, overcome all challenges, created a glorious tradition, and actively contributed to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The school is a pioneer in innovating training and scientific research activities; has been an excellent unit of the Finance sector for 10 consecutive years; has many high-quality scientific research products, contributing to the process of planning socio-economic development strategies of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, and planning policies and economic-financial mechanisms of ministries and branches.

With its important contributions, the Academy has been honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal, the First Class Independence Medal, the First Class Labor Medal (3 times), the First Class ISALA Medal of Laos and many other noble awards.

The National Assembly Chairman stated that the Resolution of the 13th National Congress has set out a strategic vision to turn our country into a developed, high-income country, in which human resource development, especially high-quality human resources, is identified as one of the three strategic breakthroughs. The quality of university and postgraduate training plays a decisive role in the quality of human resources, especially high-quality human resources; it is the key to promoting labor productivity growth, maintaining rapid and sustainable economic growth. Vietnamese higher education in general and the Academy of Finance in particular need to be deeply aware of this noble mission and responsibility towards the country.

Praising the school's achievements, the National Assembly Chairman stated that the 60th anniversary of its establishment and development is a major event for the Academy of Finance, opening a new development path; at the same time, he acknowledged and highly appreciated the Academy for gathering and promoting the intelligence and enthusiasm of many ministries, departments, central and local branches, especially veteran teachers and alumni who contributed ideas and suggestions for the Academy's Development Strategy for the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Constantly innovate thinking, adapt to the requirements of the times

The National Assembly Chairman noted that the Academy should continue to study and thoroughly grasp the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, the State's policies and laws; concretize the mission, vision, and goals set out in the School Development Strategy to 2030 through programs and action plans for each stage and each year associated with specific responsibilities for each unit and individual in the Academy of Finance ecosystem.

The Academy further clarifies its goal of becoming a multidisciplinary, multi-field university with the orientation of combining basic research, applied research, and technology transfer; Clearly defining the development model; reviewing and perfecting the organizational structure, developing the school ecosystem; researching the establishment of science and technology enterprises, providing financial, accounting, and auditing services in which the school has strengths.

The Academy constantly innovates its thinking, creates new changes to adapt to the requirements of the times; renews and promotes traditional training programs with strengths, constantly innovates, creates, applies new technology, especially digital technology, creates breakthrough changes in both content, methods and training technology to catch up, progress together and surpass in some areas compared to universities in the country and the region. The Academy boldly builds new training programs to meet the needs of economic and social development of the country and the development trends of the times.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized: “The Academy of Finance must be one of the pioneers, implementing university autonomy most effectively, especially financial autonomy; promoting internal strength, making the most of investment resources for school development. Quickly forming a network of alumni and former teachers of the school to create a combined strength, considering this a member of the school's ecosystem”.

Along with that, the Academy effectively operates the Mind - Finance - Finance Education Development Fund; allocates adequate resources to grant scholarships to poor students, excellent students, support the start-up and innovation movement so that the Academy can truly be a quality and prestigious innovation center of the country.

Emphasizing that “talents are the vital energy of the nation”, according to the National Assembly Chairman, in the resources for school development, human resources play the most important and decisive role. Therefore, the Academy of Finance continues to promote its tradition, building the Academy as one of the major centers of the country in “attracting talents, nurturing human hearts, perfecting personality, developing human resources”, to train and foster a team of teachers worthy of meeting the requirements of the new situation in the fields of economics, finance, and accounting.

The Academy attracts a team of talented domestic and foreign experts to serve as guest lecturers; at the same time, it has a policy to attract, discover, nurture and train excellent students, forming strong research groups with qualifications on par with leading domestic universities.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized the need to continue promoting international exchange and cooperation activities, training and research cooperation and exchange; increasing the participation of businesses and organizations in developing training content and programs. The Academy periodically conducts surveys on the job market, analyzes and receives feedback from employers.

The National Assembly Chairman requested that central ministries, departments, agencies and Hanoi continue to pay attention, prioritize resources and create the most favorable conditions for the Academy of Finance to develop, have enough potential to train high-quality human resources and transfer knowledge to directly serve the country's development in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Over the past 60 years, many outstanding students of the Academy have grown up and held important positions in the leadership apparatus of the Party and State from the central to local levels; many have been and are key officials of ministries, branches, agencies, units and enterprises. The National Assembly Chairman requested the University to create the best conditions for students to study and participate in scientific research; to care for students who are children of ethnic minorities, in remote areas and from difficult family circumstances.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue presented the Academy of Finance with 60 sets of computers and teaching equipment; and donated VND100 million to the Academy's Heart - Finance - Finance Education Development Fund.

At the ceremony, the Academy announced the decision to establish the Mental - Financial - Financial Education Development Fund and honored outstanding teachers through the generations.
