Thai ethnic costumes are preserved and conserved by people in Hoi Xuan commune.
Implementing the Resolution of the Central Committee V (VIII term) on "Building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national cultural identity" and the movement to build "Cultural villages, cultural agencies", in recent times, the Party Committee and the communal government have always promoted and mobilized people to preserve and promote traditional cultural values of the nation. Despite many changes in the modern lifestyle, the Thai and Muong ethnic groups in the commune still preserve many games and performances with unique cultural features such as Thai khap, truc luong, gong drums, throwing con, crossbow shooting, tug of war, new rice offering ceremony... In particular, the Xuong singing melodies of the Muong ethnic group and Khap singing of the Thai ethnic group are still preserved and performed by the people during holidays and Tet. Hoi Xuan commune is also the place where the Muong Ca Da Festival is held to commemorate and honor the historical figure of the General in command of the army Kham Ban - who had the merit of opening up the Muong Ca Da land.
Chairman of Hoi Xuan Commune People's Committee Le Van Dung said: "In addition to the traditional cultural features of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups, the commune also has many relics and scenic spots such as Lung Mu cave, stele - the place to worship General Kham Ban, Ong pagoda, Ba cave, Vinh Quang lake, terraced rice fields in Ngheo village. Currently, the stele and Lung Mu cave relic complex have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as provincial-level historical and cultural relics. This is a resource for the locality to develop historical tourism associated with spiritual culture".
Along with preserving the traditional cultural values of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups, Hoi Xuan commune also promotes the movement "Building cultural villages and cultural agencies" associated with the movement "All people build a cultural life". Up to now, the commune has 18/20 villages and neighborhoods recognized as cultural villages and neighborhoods; 77% of households have achieved the title of cultural families. Most villages and neighborhoods have conventions and village regulations on implementing cultural lifestyles in residential areas. More happily, the local people carry out funerals and weddings according to a new, simple, economical and healthy cultural lifestyle.
The results achieved in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Thai and Muong ethnic groups in Hoi Xuan commune have contributed to creating a driving force for socio -economic development and improving the spiritual life of local people.
