On March 17th,Bamboo Capital Group announced that Mr. Kou Kok Yiow (Chris) - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bamboo Capital Group Joint Stock Company (BCG) - passed away suddenly on March 8th, 2025 due to a heart attack, at the age of 63.
The funeral was held in Singapore.
Bamboo Capital Group stated that Mr. Kou Kok Yiow has been with Bamboo Capital since its inception and has previously held positions as an advisor and member of the supervisory board. On April 27, 2024, he was elected chairman of the company's board of directors.
Bamboo Capital expressed its gratitude for the contributions and values that the late Chairman of the Board, Kou Kok Yiow, brought to the group.
Mr. Kou Kok Yiow became the chairman of Bamboo Capital, replacing Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam, who stated that he was resigning to take on the new role of chairman of Bamboo Capital's strategic board. Mr. Nam also holds the position of vice chairman of the board of directors of Eximbank.
Recently, Bamboo Capital Group announced that on February 28th, the company was notified by the competent authority of the decision to initiate criminal proceedings and indict Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam.
According to Bamboo Capital, as of April 27, 2024, Mr. Nam has resigned and no longer holds any positions on the board of directors, supervisory board, or executive board of the company. "The company's business operations continue as normal," a representative from Bamboo Capital stated.
The company also affirmed that it will disclose information transparently and in accordance with the law regarding this matter in order to protect the rights of shareholders.
Recently, Bamboo Capital also announced a decision by its board of directors regarding personnel changes. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Tung Lam resigned from his position as general director and legal representative, due to focusing on his new responsibilities.
