As a developing Class I city, Viet Tri has great potential to attract investment from various economic sectors and exploit its potential and advantages for socio-economic development. At the same time, the city places special emphasis on urban management, considering it a decisive factor in achieving the goal of building Viet Tri into a civilized, modern city, a city of festivals that connects with the roots of the Vietnamese nation.

To create a foundation for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of urban management, the city has consistently focused on and promptly reviewed and updated the general planning until 2040, which was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 296/QD-TTg dated April 10, 2024, and publicly announced the approved plan as required. Based on this, Viet Tri organized the preparation and submission to the Provincial People's Committee for approval of the partial adjustment of the zoning plan for the central areas of Gia Cam, Tien Cat, Minh Nong wards, etc.
The city also approved 10 local adjustments to detailed planning schemes at a scale of 1/500 for residential areas, 10 overall land use plans, and 2 new planning tasks; approved and adjusted investment policies, investors, and land use conversion for projects... Construction management in the area was also emphasized, with construction projects being strictly controlled, bringing about positive changes. In 2024, the city granted permits for over 1,300 individual house constructions and 8 unit construction projects; approved 30 construction investment projects with a total investment of 774 billion VND; inspected, accepted, and put into use 39 projects...
Viet Tri has also identified infrastructure management and ensuring traffic safety and order as key tasks in building a civilized and modern city. Annually, the city manages the road transport system, green infrastructure, lighting, and inland waterways within its jurisdiction according to its assigned responsibilities and authority. In particular, Viet Tri consistently invests in improving and upgrading the transportation infrastructure in residential areas to meet practical needs and enhance the quality of life for its people. In 2024, the city constructed 26km of residential roads using cement concrete and asphalt, and paved nearly 64,000 m² of sidewalks using socialized capital.
Comrade Nguyen Quang Huy - Head of the Urban Management Department of Viet Tri City, said: Every year, the Department organizes and completes projects under its ownership. Last year, the Department completed the following projects: renovating and upgrading the parking lot in Van Lang Park area, at the intersection of Tran Phu and Tien Dung streets; supplementing, repairing, and replacing road signs, street name signs, and alley signposts on inner-city roads; painting lines marking the locations of stalls and parking spaces on the sidewalks of Tran Phu and Nguyen Tat Thanh streets around Van Lang Park. Currently, the Department is accelerating the implementation of the project on lighting systems, trees, and sidewalks on several inner-city roads in Viet Tri City to ensure completion on schedule and with quality, contributing to creating a bright, beautiful, civilized, and modern urban landscape for Viet Tri.
Viet Tri has developed and implemented plans to ensure traffic safety and order; at the same time, it has launched intensive campaigns to handle violations of illegal use of road safety corridors in the area; and cleared violations of encroachment on roads and sidewalks for illegal trading and business. The management of temporary and makeshift markets continues to be strengthened and has achieved positive results...
Simultaneously, to build a green, clean, and beautiful urban image, the city has always paid attention to resource and environmental management. Specifically, Viet Tri has issued and implemented the City Environmental Plan for the period 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030. To date, the implementation of the environmental protection plan has been actively carried out by wards and communes, effectively resolving some illegal dumpsites and reducing the burning and dumping of waste at unauthorized times and locations. The plan has also received enthusiastic and positive support from political and social organizations in the city and a large number of citizens.
Comrade Vu Kim Duc - Chairman of the City's Fatherland Front Committee, informed: Contributing to improving the effectiveness of urban management through activities to build and protect the city's green, clean, and beautiful appearance, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the city and its member organizations have intensified propaganda and mobilization to raise awareness and responsibility among officials, members, and the people; building many practical models associated with patriotic emulation movements and campaigns to jointly participate in preserving a green, clean, and beautiful environment and building a civilized lifestyle. Currently, the Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations in the city effectively maintain 800 models on environmental protection.
In the coming period, Viet Tri will continue to improve the effectiveness of urban management in all areas of planning, construction activities, infrastructure, urban beautification, urban order management, and ensuring traffic safety. This includes focusing on completing the urban management regulations, architectural management, and the project for exploiting infrastructure assets in the Van Lang Park area; and continuing to promote investment in urban technical infrastructure...
