Over 1,500 officials and civil servants from Bac Lieu have moved to Ca Mau for work.
The meeting focused on discussing and providing feedback on the preparation of necessary working conditions, transportation, and accommodation for officials from Bac Lieu to Ca Mau to work after the merger of the two provinces from July 1, 2025.
Accordingly, the basic office and accommodation arrangements are being proactively coordinated by agencies and units to ensure that staff have a comfortable working environment and can focus on their work. According to reports, agencies and units will coordinate and utilize even holidays to move equipment and meet work requirements when the (new) Ca Mau province officially comes into operation.
After reviewing and compiling statistics on the organizational structure and personnel of the two provinces, the total number of officials, civil servants, and public employees working in the newly merged Ca Mau province is 5,620.
Accordingly, the number of officials, civil servants, and public employees from Bac Lieu working in the (new) Ca Mau province on July 1, 2025, is 1,514; the number of officials, civil servants, and public employees remaining in Bac Lieu to work is 1,560 (an additional 431 will work in Ca Mau after September 1, 2025); and the number of officials, civil servants, and public employees of agencies and units in Ca Mau is 3,454.
Regarding the need for office space, a total of 120 offices will be allocated (73 in Ca Mau and 47 in Bac Lieu). Of these, six Party agencies will be located at 107 Phan Ngoc Hien Street, Ward 5, Ca Mau City, Ca Mau Province, including: the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Organization Department, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department, and the Party Committees of Party agencies. Sixteen government units will have 26 offices (including nine in Bac Lieu). The Provincial People's Council will be located at 288 Tran Hung Dao Street, Ward 5, Ca Mau Province.
Financial support of 2.2 million VND/person/month for 2 years.
In parallel with arranging accommodation and transportation, the Ca Mau Department of Finance, in coordination with the Department of Construction and other relevant departments and agencies, advised the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Ca Mau Provincial People's Council a resolution stipulating policies to support housing and travel expenses for officials, civil servants, and public employees working in public service agencies and units under Bac Lieu province who are transferred and assigned to work in agencies and units under Ca Mau province.
Accordingly, the total number of people receiving support is 1,514; the total of 3 support items (housing costs, transportation costs, and living expenses) is 2.22 million VND/person/month, for a period of 2 years from the date of the administrative boundary merger decision.
According to Huynh Huu Tri, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province, Bac Lieu province has actively coordinated with Ca Mau province to complete the arrangement and consolidation of officials with departments and agencies of Ca Mau province.
The issues that officials and employees of Bac Lieu province are concerned about, such as working conditions in the new location, accommodation, and initial relocation, have been quite well and thoughtfully prepared for through coordinated efforts between the leaders of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces.
Vice Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee, Lam Van Bi, emphasized: Ca Mau is ready with the necessary conditions regarding workplaces, facilities, and equipment for the new Ca Mau province to officially begin operations on July 1, 2025.
Both provinces have successfully implemented the necessary conditions for the new communes and wards to become operational. They agreed to support officials from Bac Lieu who will be assigned to work in Ca Mau; this matter will be presented to the new Provincial People's Council on July 1st.
