Associate Professor, Dr. Dau Xuan Canh, Chairman of the Vietnam Oriental Medicine Association, said that the training program not only equips students with in-depth knowledge of traditional medicine but also trains them in medical ethics, medical techniques, medical theory, and standard practical skills. This is an important first step for each student to become a bridge between national heritage and modern medicine, contributing to comprehensive and sustainable public health care.
According to the Vietnam Association of Traditional Medicine, for the past 21 years, training activities have been suspended pending new guidelines from the Ministry of Health. During this time, many people want to pursue a career as a traditional medicine practitioner but do not know where to start or how to receive proper, in-depth training.
Nationwide, there are currently more than 25,000 people in need of training to obtain a certificate of traditional medicine practitioner.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dau Xuan Canh said that currently, the training of medical doctors and traditional medicine doctors has been done well, but the vocational training for those who want to practice traditional medicine and herbal medicine has not been done carefully. Therefore, in the coming time, the Association will promote vocational training.
