According to a survey by the Vietnam Institute for Real Estate Market Research and Evaluation, nearly 90% of real estate brokers do not have a practice certificate or their certificate has expired. This figure shows the lack of standardization of the brokerage force - a team considered an important bridge in the real estate market.
Specifically, 12.8% of brokers had expired certificates, 24.1% had been trained but not yet certified, and 51.8% had never attended training. Only 11.3% of those surveyed had valid practice certificates. Notably, only 8.21% of respondents said they had a clear understanding of a qualified training facility.
Survey results on real estate brokerage practice certificates
Mr. Nguyen Thai Quoc Bao, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IEFA Real Estate Training Center, said: "Since 2015, the certification has been organized by the Examination Council of the Department of Construction. By 2023, the authority was assigned to the Provincial People's Committee, but the operation has almost been frozen. According to the new regulations from July 1, 2025, the Department of Construction will take over again, but so far there has been no specific guidance from the management agency."
Mr. Nguyen Thai Quoc Bao - Chairman of the Board of Directors of IEFA Real Estate Training Center shared the shortcomings in organizing the current real estate practice certificate exam.
A unified training and examination system not only helps brokers to be evaluated fairly, but also creates peace of mind for businesses in recruitment. At the same time, this is also an important step for training facilities to improve their reputation. Only when training is standardized and closely monitored can the real estate brokerage market develop sustainably and transparently.
