Securities upgraded, VN-Index increased more than 12 points

This morning, the Vietnamese stock market had a particularly exciting trading session at the beginning of the session, demonstrating the expectations of market members for the results of conquering the emerging market ranking.

At the beginning of the session, many stocks of the Securities group scored with strong increases. However, this performance could not be maintained until the end of the session and ended the session in red such as VIX, HCM, MBS.

Therefore, the focus this morning really belongs to the Retail industry group with the whole industry increasing by over 2%. Notably, MWG increased by nearly 3% at the end of the session.

Some bluechips of the Banking sector also performed well in leading the market this morning despite the selling pressure increasing towards the end of the session. CTG and LPB are notable names.

VIC and VHM are the top two stocks that gain the most points on the main index.

Red also spread strongly towards the end of the session to the Oil and Gas and Construction Materials sectors. HPG and BSR were under pressure to correct with decreases of 0.52% and 0.57%, respectively.

Foreign investors continued to sell strongly this morning with a total net selling value of about 881 billion VND. SSI is the stock at the top of the list of foreign investors' net selling.

Bustling trading, VN-Index increased in the afternoon session of October 8

At the end of the session, VN-Index increased by 12.53 points to 1,697.83 points, with trading volume reaching more than 1.06 million shares, equivalent to more than VND33,207.7 billion. The entire floor had 181 stocks increasing in price, 121 stocks decreasing in price and 70 stocks remaining unchanged. VN30 recorded 19 stocks increasing, 7 stocks decreasing and 4 stocks remaining unchanged. Stocks with strong increases leading the market included VHM increasing by 4.27%, VRE increasing by 3.71%, MWG increasing by 3.59%, VNM increasing by 3.26%, CTG increasing by 2.52% and STB increasing by 2.39%.

Meanwhile, VIC, TCB, LPB andFPT were under selling pressure, holding back the index's growth. The stocks that had the most positive impact on the VN-Index were VHM, VCB, CTG and VNM.

The HNX-Index also recorded a positive performance, increasing by 0.47 points to 273.34 points with 68 stocks increasing, 65 stocks decreasing and 73 stocks remaining unchanged. Stocks with positive impacts included KSV increasing by 1.24%, CEO increasing by 2.05%, SHS increasing by 1.14% and PVS increasing by 1.25%. Trading volume reached more than 117.9 million shares, equivalent to more than VND2,641.6 billion.

UPCOM-Index increased 0.19 points to 110.43 points with 132 stocks increasing, 90 stocks decreasing and 93 stocks remaining unchanged, trading volume reached more than 34.1 million shares, equivalent to nearly 550 billion VND.

In terms of sectors, the non-essential consumer sector increased positively thanks to MWG increasing by 3.59%, FRT increasing by 2.38%, DGW increasing by 0.49% and HHS increasing by 4.09%. Next, the real estate and essential consumer sectors also increased in price. On the contrary, the information technology sector decreased the most due to FPT decreasing by 1.05%, DLG decreasing by 0.35% and VEC decreasing by 8.89%.

Regarding foreign transactions, on the HOSE floor, this group net bought more than 154 billion VND, focusing on GEX 264.1 billion VND, MWG 254.85 billion VND, HPG 179.59 billion VND and VCB 130.45 billion VND. On the HNX floor, foreign investors net sold more than 62 billion VND, mainly in IDC 47.63 billion VND, CEO 15.73 billion VND, PLC 2.44 billion VND and MST 1.59 billion VND.

The session on October 8 ended with the VN-Index recovering strongly, reflecting investors' optimistic sentiment, with buyers gradually regaining their position, helping to pull the index closer to the 1,700 point mark.
