Stock group Banking, securities, information technology, and real estate sectors were all showing purple (indicating significant price increases) and dominated the market. Blue-chip stocks saw the strongest gains, with all 30 stocks reaching their upper limit. Many stocks hit their upper limit with strong buying pressure and no sellers, led by HPG,SHB , VIC, SSI, CTG, and FPT.
Group share Stocks related to export activities such as seafood, fertilizers, agriculture , and food were also dominated by purple and green. By 9:30 AM, the VN-Index had risen by more than 72 points, reaching 1,166.7 points. Nearly 300 stocks on the entire exchange saw their maximum price increase. Trading volume exceeded 3,300 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen The Minh, Director of the Research and Development Division of Yuanta Securities Vietnam, said that the market is reacting positively after the news that the US has postponed tariffs, and will recover in the coming sessions, corresponding to the scenario of a negotiation that yields positive results for Vietnam on April 9th.
Technically, many stocks are currently in very deep oversold territory, suggesting the possibility of a rebound. In terms of valuation, the market's projected P/E ratio is below 10 times, equivalent to the lows of the COVID-19 pandemic or the 2022 real estate crisis. Therefore, the opportunity for a recovery is plausible.
Looking at the global market , Asian markets opened positively with widespread gains, notably the Nikkei 225 rising 8.23%, the Singapore Straits Times up 6.53%, the All Ordinaries up 4.74%, the Hang Seng up 3.28%, and the Shanghai Composite up 1.55%.
VPBank Securities noted that bottom-buying demand was active, but selling pressure remained strong, causing the VN-Index to fall below the 1,100-point mark. Technical indicators have fallen deeply into oversold territory, especially the RSI, which is near its pandemic-era low in March 2020. Therefore, this analysis team predicts that a technical rebound is still expected in the coming trading sessions.
Experts recommend that investors may continue to stay on the sidelines and limit selling during this period. If they wish to make new purchases, investors should consider stocks that have already shown buy signals, but with a low weighting.
