Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at VND 16,541.5 billion, up 8.76% over the same period last year.
The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector is estimated at VND3,642.9 billion, up 7.92% over the same period last year, contributing 1.76 percentage points to the overall growth rate. Agricultural, forestry and fishery production is concentrated, sustainable, applying high technology; developing raw material areas associated with processing industry, clean agricultural production in the direction of organic, promoting the application of high technology, biotechnology, mechanization of production, encouraging and supporting enterprises, cooperatives and households to invest in intensive farming, increasing crops, producing according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP, organic standards, connecting product consumption.
The industrial and construction sector is estimated at VND4,264.5 billion, up 11.83% over the same period last year, contributing 2.97 percentage points. The industrial sector is estimated at VND2,901.2 billion, up 14.87%, contributing 2.47 percentage points to the overall growth rate; The service sector is estimated at VND7,807.8 billion, up 8.33% over the same period last year, contributing 3.94 percentage points to the overall growth rate.
The total product in the province (at current prices) in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at 39,241 billion VND, of which: the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector is estimated at 7,673 billion VND, accounting for 19.55%; the industrial and construction sector is estimated at 13,479 billion VND, accounting for 34.35%; the service sector is estimated at 16,129 billion VND, accounting for 41.10%; product tax minus product subsidy is estimated at 1,960 billion VND, accounting for 5%. The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction, in the right direction and in line with the economic development goals of the province, agricultural production has shifted towards commodity production and high technology application, promoting the province's advantages in fruit tree development. Industry develops in the direction of gradually increasing the proportion of processing industry, increasing the proportion of domestic value in products and services, focusing on developing industries with competitive advantages, and developing tourism services.
It can be seen that Son La is gradually transforming strongly from a purely agricultural province with a less diversified economy to a multi-industry developing locality: high-tech agriculture, processing industry, energy, tourism, trade and digital economy. The rational restructuring of the industry structure, in accordance with potential, strengths and development trends, will create new momentum for sustainable growth to ensure the country's growth in 2025 reaches 8.3 - 8.5% .
