HDB shares reversed course and hit the ceiling price, while the VN-Index fell by more than 3 points.

NDO - On December 30th, the trading session saw red dominating the electronic board, coupled with minimal capital inflow, causing the VN-Index to lose points for almost the entire session. The highlight of the session was the unexpected reversal of the trend by HDB shares, which surged to its ceiling price of 26,650 VND per share. At the close of trading, the VN-Index fell 3.12 points to 1,272.02 points.


On the HoSE exchange, the trading value in this session decreased compared to the previous session, reaching over 10,012.33 billion VND.

Today's session saw VN30 stocks close with 6 gainers, 4 unchanged, and 20 losers.

In particular, HDB hit its ceiling price at 26,650 VND/share, POW increased by 1.25%, and STB increased by 1.2%.

Stocks such as CTG,FPT , and SAB saw slight increases.

Four stocks stopped at the reference price: BCM, VIC, VPB, VRE.

Conversely, BID fell 2.3% to 38,250 VND/share,VIB fell 1.5%, SSB fell 1.18%, VJC fell 1.09%, and MBB fell 1%.

The remaining stocks: ACB, BVH, GAS, GVR, HPG, MSN, MWG, PLX,SHB , SSI, TCB, TPB, VCB, VHM, VNM saw slight declines.

In terms of sectors, steel stocks traded quite positively, closing in the green with VCA up 1.64%, DTL up 1%, and HMC, NKG, and SMC showing slight increases. Conversely, TLH fell 1.29%, while HPG and HSG declined slightly.

Securities stocks closed lower. Besides SSI mentioned above, APG fell 5.56% to VND 6,790/share, TCI fell 2.27%, VIX fell 1.48%, while CTS, DSE, ORS, VCI, and VND saw slight declines. Conversely, VDS rose 1.44%, HCM saw a slight increase, and AGR, BSI, FTS, TVB, and TVS remained unchanged.

The banking sector also closed the session with most stocks declining. Besides the aforementioned VN30 stocks: ACB, BID, CTG, HDB, MBB, SHB, SSB, STB, TCB, TPB, VCB, VPB, VIB, EIB fell slightly, LPB rose 1.77%, MSB and NAB remained unchanged, and OCB increased slightly.

The real estate sector saw many stocks experiencing sharp declines, including: TDH falling to its floor price of 3,060 VND/share, TIX down 6.57%, DTA down 4.65%, FIR down 2.3%, HQC down 3.36%, HPX down 2.45%, KHG down 2.46%, NBB down 3.7%, NVT down 2.64%, SCR down 3.22%, etc.

* The Vietnamese stock market index was mostly in the red throughout today's session. The VNXALL-Index closed down 0.24 points (-0.01%) at 2,125.07 points. Trading volume reached 504.39 million units, equivalent to a trading value of 11,660.02 billion VND. Across the market, 124 stocks increased in price, 86 remained unchanged, and 256 decreased.

* On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index closed at 228.14 points, down 0.99 points (-0.43%). Total trading volume reached over 34.80 million shares, with a corresponding transaction value of over 560.15 billion VND. Across the entire exchange, there were 55 gainers, 56 unchanged stocks, and 103 losers.

The HNX30 index closed down 3.57 points (-0.74%) at 480.53 points. Trading volume reached approximately 16.65 million units, with a corresponding value of over 365.86 billion VND. Among the HNX30 stocks, 7 ended the trading day higher, 4 remained unchanged, and 19 declined.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM Index rose, closing at 95.00 points, up 0.53 points (+0.56%). Total market liquidity reached over 26.62 million shares traded, with a corresponding trading value of over 350.40 billion VND. Among UPCoM stocks, 130 ended the trading day higher, 93 remained unchanged, and 146 declined.

* On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 3.12 points (-0.24%) at 1,272.02 points. Trading volume reached over 525.70 million units, equivalent to a trading value of VND 11,564.20 billion. Across the entire exchange, there were 122 gainers, 73 unchanged stocks, and 298 losers.

The VN30 index rose 0.51 points (+0.04%) to 1,347.35 points. Trading volume reached over 179.54 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of VND 5,237.47 billion. At the end of the trading day, 6 VN30 stocks increased, 4 remained unchanged, and 20 decreased.

The top 5 stocks with the highest trading volume were DXG (over 24.53 million units), PDR (over 13.84 million units), YEG (over 13.13 million units), HPG (over 12.16 million units), and VIX (over 12.05 million units).

The top 5 gainers were TMT (6.98%), DTT (6.96%), VDP (6.95%), SGT (6.94%), and SFC (6.92%).

The 5 stocks with the biggest price drops were CMG (-8.91%), GMC (-6.89%), HRC (-6.88%), KHP (-6.82%), and TDH (-6.71%).

* Today's derivatives market saw 95,495 contracts traded, with a value exceeding VND 12,848.41 billion.
