Recently, the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) decided to maintain the warning status for two companies: Petrolimex Import-Export Joint Stock Company (HoSE: PIT) and iCapital Investment Joint Stock Company (HoSE: PTC).
Specifically, the undistributed net profit (NPAT) in Petrolimex Import-Export's audited consolidated semi-annual financial statement for 2023 was -21.07 billion VND. The undistributed NPAT based on iCapital Investment's audited semi-annual financial statement for 2023 was -20.82 billion VND. Both are negative figures.
According to information from HoSE, Petrolimex Import-Export's PIT shares have been placed under control since 2016. From 2014 to the present, the company has consistently reported negative after-tax profits in its financial statements.
In 2020, HoSE issued Decision No. 480 on transferring PIT shares from the controlled category to the warning category effective August 24, 2020, and maintaining the warning category until now.
In the first six months of 2023, Petrolimex Import-Export recorded net revenue of VND 269.6 billion, a decrease of 37% compared to the same period in 2022. Gross profit from sales and services was VND 23.9 billion, a decrease of 37% compared to the first six months of 2022. As of June 30, 2023, the company's total assets were VND 249.7 billion, a slight increase compared to the beginning of the year.
Regarding iCapital's PTC stock, it was placed on the warning list by HoSE from April 14, 2023, due to negative after-tax profit in the audited consolidated financial statements for 2022.
Previously, on July 11, 2022, the company's shares were removed from the control list due to recording after-tax profit of VND 57.4 billion in 2021 and undistributed after-tax profit of VND 87.46 billion as of December 31, 2021.
In terms of overall financial performance, in the first six months of 2023, iCapital recorded net revenue of VND 51.6 billion, a twofold increase compared to the same period in 2022. Gross profit from sales and services was VND 26.4 billion, double that of the first six months of 2022. Total assets as of June 30, 2023, amounted to VND 1,178 billion .
