Chelsea beat PSG 3-0 to win FIFA Club World Cup 2025
At MetLife Stadium (USA), English midfielder Cole Palmer had an excellent performance when he contributed to all 3 goals of Chelsea. In the 22nd minute, the English player opened the score with a skillful curling shot after a second-line pass from Malo Gusto.
As usual, Palmer ran to the back of the pitch to celebrate in his usual way, rubbing his arms and looking cool. Just eight minutes later, the Englishman had an easier chance to score.
Centre-back Levi Colwill sent a long pass down the right flank, allowing Palmer to sprint down the line to face the goalkeeper. This time he cut inside, faked a shot, causing the PSG defender to miss his stride, before curling his signature left-footed shot into the far corner past goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Leading by 2 goals, Palmer and the Chelsea players freely showed off their skills on the field. In the 43rd minute, he received the ball near the middle of the field, moved close to the penalty area and passed the ball to Joao Pedro to face the goalkeeper. The Brazilian striker delicately chipped the ball past Donnarumma into the net, then danced the Samba to celebrate the goal.
With a brace and an assist, Palmer became the first English player to score twice in a FIFA Club World Cup final and the third English player to score in the tournament after Wayne Rooney (Man Utd) in 2008 and Phil Foden (Man City) in 2023.
In addition, the English player also became the 5th player in history to score 2 goals in the first 30 minutes of a FIFA Club World Cup final, equaling names like Puskas, Pele and Palermo.
The last player to do this was Palermo, who scored two goals in five minutes against Real Madrid in 2000 when he was playing for Boca Juniors.
Cole Palmer has truly become a “big-time man”. At 23, he has been involved in eight goals in six professional finals in his career, an impressive feat for a young player.
Notably, PSG's defense (which only conceded one goal during the journey to the final) allowed Cole Palmer and his teammates to score three goals in the first half alone.

Although PSG tried hard in the remaining half, the excellence of goalkeeper Sanchez caused the French team to suffer an unexpected defeat.
PSG's poor day ended with a straight red card for Joao Neves after pulling Marc Cucurella's hair in the 85th minute, a moment that clearly revealed frustration as PSG began to lose their fighting spirit.
Meanwhile, Chelsea fans began to dream of a new cycle of success under coach Enzo Maresca, as the team showed a completely transformed face compared to pre-tournament expectations.
