Police officers from Luong Thinh commune join hands to help people harvest rice.

Due to the unpredictable weather conditions, on the afternoon of May 21st, the Luong Thinh commune police dispatched officers and soldiers to the fields to assist people in harvesting the winter-spring rice crop.

These days, across the fields, farmers are entering the peak of the harvest season. The unpredictable weather is causing many households, especially those with few members or elderly people, considerable difficulty in harvesting their rice at the right time.

Understanding this situation, the Luong Thinh commune police mobilized officers and soldiers to assist people in harvesting and transporting rice home.

Thanks to the support of the police force, in just one afternoon, more than 3 acres of rice belonging to local people were harvested, helping to alleviate their hardship and prevent losses caused by thunderstorms.

Mr. Dinh Trong Thuat, from Yen Thuan village, shared: “I am in poor health, and there are only my elderly wife and I at home, so I am very happy and grateful that the officials came to help me. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you.”

Captain Hoang Tien Dat, Head of Luong Thinh Commune Police, said that after learning that some households in the area were unable to harvest their rice due to a shortage of labor and difficult circumstances, the unit proactively arranged work and sent some officers and soldiers to the fields to assist the people. Although the unit's work is quite busy, this is a practical action, demonstrating the spirit of serving the people.

In addition to providing labor support, during the harvest process, the police force also educated and reminded people not to dry rice and straw on the road, causing traffic obstruction; and not to use makeshift vehicles to transport rice, in order to reduce the risk of accidents during the harvest season.
