This is one of the important activities of the Ministry of Science and Technology at the National Achievement Exhibition "80 years of the journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" taking place on August 29, at the Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi).
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the five announced initiatives include: Science and Technology Exchange; National Science and Technology Initiative Portal; National Strategic Technology Catalog; National Techfest 2025; Annual Report on the Future of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation from 2026.
Science and technology exchange
From the practice of meeting the needs of businesses in accessing and applying technological solutions, the Science and Technology Exchange was launched with a combined direct and online model at https://techmartvietnam.vn.
The exchange will be a destination to connect technology supply and demand, promote the transfer and commercialization of research results, and contribute to the development of a transparent and effective science and technology market.
Currently, the Ministry of Science and Technology is continuing to perfect the technical platform, build a database, and organize a model to effectively operate the Science and Technology Exchange.
National Initiative Portal
With the address www.sangkien.gov.vn, the National Science and Technology Initiative Portal is a place to receive, share and spread innovative ideas from all walks of life, businesses, research institutes, universities and experts at home and abroad.
The Ministry of Science and Technology hopes that this platform will mobilize collective intelligence, promote national creativity, and join hands to solve the country's major problems.
National strategic technology portfolio
The Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1131/QD-TTg dated June 12, 2025, on the List of national strategic technologies and strategic products, including 11 groups of strategic technologies.
This is a timely step, continuing to concretize the strategic technology leadership viewpoint and is one of the key and core contents identified in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
National Techfest 2025
The year 2025 marks the renewal of Techfest Vietnam, the largest innovation and startup event in the country. For the first time, Techfest 2025 applies an open model: combining an outdoor stage, street-side experience space and in-depth sessions in the hall.
Accordingly, expanding the space not only helps to visually promote startup products and services, but also connects creative businesses with the public, creating more opportunities to reach the community, consumers and investors.
Annual Future of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Report from 2026
The Ministry of Science and Technology will annually publish the Future of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation Report from 2026. The publication of this Report aims to provide scientific basis, data and analysis for policy making, research orientation, investment and implementation of national strategies.
The Future of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation report will help the Government, businesses, institutes, schools and the scientific community have updated and accurate information to build plans and choose priorities for research, investment and development.
This is also an important tool to make information transparent, spread awareness and create social consensus on the role of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in improving national competitiveness and promoting sustainable development of the country in the digital age.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the above five key initiatives are a strong affirmation: Science, technology, innovation and digital transformation are the key driving forces to bring Vietnam to progress quickly and sustainably on the path of integration and development.
