At 6:30 a.m. on August 30, the State-level rehearsal ceremony for the 80th anniversary celebration, military parade, and march to celebrate the success of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam took place at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi .
Attending the rehearsal were Politburo members: Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister; Tran Cam Tu, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important events of the country (2023-2025); Nguyen Hoa Binh , Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important events of the country (2023-2025); General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.
Participating in the State-level rehearsal program were more than 40,000 officers, soldiers and representatives of all walks of life. In particular, performing tasks at Ba Dinh Square were 6 forces including: Traditional torch-carrying force and Fire Guard; Ceremonial Artillery force; Air Force flying salute; Parade and marching force; Background force; Formation and lettering force.
The rehearsal began with a solemn flag-raising ceremony at Ba Dinh Square. Along the parade routes, crowds of people watching the rehearsal sang the "National Anthem" together.
At exactly 6:45 a.m., from My Dinh National Stadium, officers and soldiers of the 45th Artillery Brigade under the Artillery - Missile Command fired 21 resounding cannon shots, signaling the start of the rehearsal.
At around 7:00 a.m., the Mi-171, Mi-17, and Mi-8 helicopter squadrons carrying the national and party flags led the air force flying over Ba Dinh sky, opening the rehearsal. This was followed by impressive performances by the Casa C-295 and C212i transport aircraft formations, Yak-130 and L-39NG trainers, modern Su-30MK2 supersonic multi-role fighters, especially the jamming ammunition dropping part.
Next, the parade blocks marched one by one through the Ba Dinh Square stage to the music of the song "Marching to Hanoi" by musician Van Cao and an explanation of the forces.
Starting with 4 blocks of ceremonial symbols including the national emblem car, the national flag and the Party flag, the car carrying the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh , the model car symbolizing the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Participating in the general rehearsal passing through the stage were 26 military blocs; 4 foreign military blocs (China, Russia, Laos, Cambodia); militia and guerrillas blocs; 17 police blocs; 14 military artillery blocs; 9 police special vehicle blocs.
On the screen at Ba Dinh Square, armed forces paraded at sea at Cam Ranh Military Base, Khanh Hoa Province. The participating formation included: Command ships; maritime patrol aircraft, anti-submarine helicopters; submarine squadrons, missile frigates, anti-submarine frigates, fast attack missile boats, and gunboats of the Vietnam People's Navy; squadrons of ships of the Vietnam Coast Guard; Border Guards and Standing Militia Squadrons, along with many other modern vehicles and equipment.
Following the armed forces, the Red Flag bloc opened the parade of 12 mass blocs, in which the leading bloc was the Vietnam Fatherland Front bloc and the bloc representing the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam.
The standing forces participating in the general rehearsal at Ba Dinh Square include: the Honor Guard and 29 standing groups (18 armed forces groups standing opposite Grandstand A; 11 mass groups standing on both sides of the armed forces groups). Also participating in the general rehearsal are the groups that form shapes and arrange letters.
From Ba Dinh Square, the parades spread out in all directions to the joyful welcome of tens of thousands of people across Hanoi./.
