On the morning of August 30, at Ba Dinh Square ( Hanoi ), the rehearsal of the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 took place solemnly, on a scale equivalent to an official event.
About 40,000 people participated, including armed forces, the masses and the standing block. The parade formation marched straight and majestically across the Square, leaving a strong impression.
One by one, the blocks of officers, non-commissioned officers, students of academies, the People's Police, along with the militia, self-defense forces, and youth marched past Uncle Ho's Mausoleum. The blocks of female soldiers, navy soldiers, border guards, and coast guards also moved people with their regular formations and neat uniforms.
From dawn, a large number of people were present to watch. Many veterans in their old military uniforms stood emotionally watching each parade. The joyful and eager atmosphere spread, creating a special mark on the eve of the nation's great holiday./.
