According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United have finalized an agreement with Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko. Under the agreement, Man Utd will pay the German club £74 million, including £66.4 million in transfer fees and £7.4 million in add-ons. The deal also includes a clause for Man Utd to play a future friendly match against Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena.

The 22-year-old has arrived in Manchester to undergo a medical examination before officially being unveiled as a Manchester United player this weekend. Sesko will receive a salary of £160,000 per week at Old Trafford. This figure will increase to £200,000 per week if the club qualifies for the Champions League.
In fact, Man Utd made a less attractive offer than Newcastle in this deal, both in terms of transfer fee and Sesko's salary. However, the 22-year-old striker was eager to wear the Red Devils' shirt. This gave the Manchester club a significant advantage.
According to Sky Germany, Sesko agreed to forgo a portion of his salary (Newcastle offered more) in order to move to Man Utd. Furthermore, his agent, headed by Elvis Basanovic, also agreed to reduce his commission to facilitate the deal.
Sesko is considered one of the most promising young strikers in Europe. Since joining Leipzig from Salzburg in 2023, he has scored 39 goals and provided 8 assists in 87 appearances. Last season alone, Sesko scored 21 goals in all competitions for the German club.

Manchester United view Sesko as a strategic signing in their rebuilding of the attack under manager Ruben Amorim. Prior to this, the club had also signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £71 million.
After missing out on targets like Liam Delap (who joined Chelsea), Hugo Ekitike (who joined Liverpool), and Viktor Gyökeres (who moved to Arsenal), Man Utd turned their attention to Sesko, who had been on their radar for the past six years. This time, the Old Trafford club didn't let the opportunity slip away.
Sesko is only 22 years old and has great potential to rise to the top. Coach Amorim has high expectations for this tall striker (1.95m) to help the Red Devils reach a higher level in the future.
