In the group stage, Vietnam U23 is in Group B with Laos U23 and Cambodia U23, competing on July 19 and 22 respectively.
Sharing before the tournament, Coach Kim Sang Sik affirmed that the whole team will approach the tournament with a spirit of high concentration and not be subjective: “Winning consecutive championships (2022, 2023) is something to be proud of, but we do not want to put too much pressure on the players. Football is a team sport , I always promote team spirit and discipline in competition. The results, in my opinion, will be the natural consequence of that process.”
Coach Kim Sang Sik added that this tournament is also an opportunity for the coaching staff to test and evaluate the team for the upcoming U23 Asia qualifiers and SEA Games.
