On the morning of August 31, Mai Phu commune and descendants of the Tran family in Bao An village held a ceremony to receive the provincial-level historical-cultural relic certificate for Tran Loan church.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, local authorities and many people in the region.

Tran Loan Church is located in the residential area of Bao An village, Mai Phu commune, Ha Tinh province. Based on some documents, genealogies, certificates and decrees still preserved at the relic, it shows that this family is one of the great clans in the region, from the ancestor to now, there have been more than 15 generations.
Over the past several hundred years, the Tran family has made many contributions to the overall development of the nation's history and homeland; among the historical figures of the family is Mr. Tran Loan - a brave military officer under the Nguyen Dynasty, who was promoted to the position of Deputy Captain of the Navy.
Tran Loan, commonly known as Tran Luyen (born 1830, died 66 years old) was the 5th generation ancestor, the first branch in Bao An village. He grew up in a family with a kind mother, a talented father and from a young age showed intelligence, hard work in studying, and filial piety. At the age of 18, Tran Loan joined the army in a turbulent historical context with many uprisings of forces opposing the Nguyen Dynasty taking place everywhere.
When he joined the army, Tran Loan was assigned to the 11th team, the Left Water Guard, under the Nghe An Province Water Division. During the 40 years of training, striving, contributing and building his reputation, he always showed himself to be a highly disciplined person, diligent in all tasks, strict in training soldiers, good at training, and good at commanding.

From a sailor, Tran Loan was promoted many times from Ngu Truong, to Thap Truong, Cap bang Doi Truong, Chanh Doi Truong Suat Doi, then Tinh Binh Cai Doi and Pho Ve Uy of a navy guard. Almost his entire life was devoted to the Nguyen Dynasty navy and contributed to helping the court in protecting the sea, transporting goods, measuring and drawing water maps...
After his death, his descendants and people always remembered his merits, worshiped him attentively at the church, especially on full moon and new moon days, holidays, and death anniversaries. Tran Loan Church has also become a place for cultural, spiritual, and traditional education activities for descendants in the family and people in the area. Currently, the relic still preserves many original documents and artifacts of historical value such as: genealogy, royal decrees, parallel sentences, horizontal lacquered boards, thrones, tablets, sacrificial objects, etc.
To commemorate the merits of the sage and spread the cultural, educational and historical values of this spiritual work and historical figure, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province issued Decision No. 1614 dated June 27, 2025 on ranking the Tran Loan church as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Xuan Luong congratulated the local Party Committee, government, descendants of the Tran family in Bao An village and the people in the area for having another important and meaningful cultural and spiritual work ranked by the province.
Comrade Tran Xuan Luong also requested the locality and the clan to continue promoting the traditional values, cultural education, history, and spirituality of the work and the sage Tran Loan; preserve the relic well according to regulations; continue to collect and research information, documents, and artifacts to preserve and enhance the value of the relic.
