Receiving the national relic of Pham Ton Tuyen temple is an opportunity for the Party Committee, the government of Loc Ha district (Ha Tinh) and the descendants of the Pham Ba family to remember their ancestors andeducate the tradition for future generations.
On the morning of February 18, Loc Ha district coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Pham Ba clan to solemnly organize a ceremony to receive the national relic of Pham Ton Tuyen temple. |
Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau; Major General Pham Ba Hien - Commander of Army Corps 16 ( Ministry of National Defense ) and representatives of departments, branches and localities.
Pham Ton Tuyen Temple is a provincial historical relic and on December 29, 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 4243 recognizing it as a national historical relic. In a sacred and exciting atmosphere, descendants of the same family and hometown received the certificate from Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau congratulated his family and hometown and requested Party committees, authorities at all levels, descendants and people in the region to raise awareness of protecting relics, preserving and conserving cultural values, and promoting the significance of relics. Strictly implement current regulations of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and continue to maintain and collect more documents and artifacts about Pham Ton Tuyen to highlight his role and contributions to history.
The ceremony to bring the certificate from the district People's Committee headquarters to the relic was carried out solemnly, respectfully, and with full rituals.
Descendants of the family bring the certificate to Pham Ton Tuyen temple (in Hop Tien village, Mai Phu commune) before offering incense and worshiping.
General Pham Ton Tuyen (1695 - ?) whose real name was Mien, his given name was Pham Ton, was born in Vinh Luat village, now Hop Tien hamlet, Mai Phu commune (Loc Ha), belonging to the 6th generation of the Pham Ba family. Born into a family and clan with a tradition of studiousness, he was taught by his father, a Confucian scholar, so when he grew up, he was knowledgeable about morality and was full of chivalry. He was a character with many merits and contributions to the history of his homeland and country in the 17th century. He held a number of important positions in the army under the Le - Trinh dynasty, and was awarded the title of Chanh Nhat Pham. In particular, Pham Ton Tuyen was also the one who contributed to helping people reclaim land, build dikes to prevent salinity, and expand cultivated land. The large fields in Mai Phu land are still associated with the name of Pham Ton Tuyen such as: Dong Chung, Dong Nay, Bai Cang, Cua Vuon... He died on the 1st day of the 4th lunar month, the year is unknown. After his death, King Khai Dinh twice issued royal decrees to honor and praise his contributions to the country. He was honored as Thanh Hoang and worshiped at Vinh Phuc communal house, and at Nha Quan temple. Currently, at Pham Ton Tuyen Temple, many valuable documents such as royal decrees, genealogies, sacrificial objects are still preserved... |
