Today, May 25, according to the latest information from the Ministry of Health on infectious diseases, the country is still basically under control. However, dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, and Covid-19 are starting to increase locally in some localities.
Assessing the risk of increasing epidemics in the coming time, when people's travel needs increase during the summer months, the Ministry of Health has just issued an urgent dispatch requesting the People's Committees of provinces and cities to organize a peak campaign in June and July 2025 to deploy work to prevent and control the above diseases and epidemics that may occur in rainy and flood conditions (red eye, diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid...).

The Ministry of Health recommends that provinces and cities review and assess the risk of epidemics in areas affected by floods, landslides; be ready and proactively deploy epidemic prevention plans when situations arise; strengthen and maintain mobile anti-epidemic teams to support lower-level units.
At the same time, assign mobile anti-epidemic teams to important, high-risk locations, ready to participate in implementing and handling situations when an epidemic occurs.
The Ministry of Health also noted the need to ensure human resources, medicines, chemicals, medical equipment and facilities for the prevention of infectious diseases, especially in localities affected by floods.
Provinces and cities are required to direct the updating of infectious disease surveillance data, surveillance of severe viral pneumonia, timely provision of information on infectious disease cases, unusual signs of epidemics, early detection of the increase of infectious diseases, especially dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, Covid-19 and diseases transmitted through the digestive tract, and pink eye after storms and floods.
Medical examination and treatment facilities should prepare well for patient admission and treatment to avoid patients not receiving timely consultation, emergency care, treatment and referral. At the same time, there should be a plan for treatment allocation and support for lower levels to avoid hospital overload.
In Hanoi, a number of treatment units have admitted Covid-19 patients in recent weeks, including severe cases with underlying diseases. Specialized units continue to coordinate with the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology to collect representative samples at outbreak areas, especially severe cases, to test for variants and monitor the spread of the disease.
