In the first 6 months of the year, there were more than 9,300 traffic accidents nationwide, killing more than 5,200 people and injuring more than 6,200. Compared to the same period last year, traffic accidents decreased in all 3 criteria.
Major General Do Thanh Binh, Director of the Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security , said that in the coming time, the national traffic police force will persistently carry out three goals, in which striving to reduce accidents sustainably is the most important factor to ensure safety for people.

To do this, Major General Binh assessed that people's traffic awareness needs to change, and that people are the most important factor and the subject to build a cultural lifestyle when participating in traffic.
Buying, selling and transferring vehicles must be transparent.
According to Major General Binh, in the coming time, the traffic police force will handle violations comprehensively and strictly and use technical equipment instead of manual labor; the traffic police will minimize the use of human resources, only using them for really necessary tasks or to resolve situations.
The Director of the Traffic Police Department said that in the future, the transport business management and monitoring system will operate 24/7 to protect traffic participants.

Violations detected through the monitoring system under the authority of the Traffic Police Department will be reported to violators as soon as possible, within a maximum of 2 hours, even if the violating vehicle is a motorbike.
According to Major General Binh, to do this, in the coming time, giving, donating, or selling motorbikes must be transferred and one must be responsible for one's own vehicle.
Major General Binh also said that in the near future, a specialized team to handle violations related to motorbikes will also be deployed. At that time, the registration data of violations will be checked to determine the nearest vehicle owner and a violation notice will be sent after 2 hours.
In addition, the Traffic Police Department is completing the data center, monitoring and controlling traffic. When operating, it will operate 24/7, and the violations observed with the naked eye will be replaced by this monitoring system, ensuring objectivity.
The Director of the Traffic Police Department said that the goal of building the center is not only to handle violations but also to create awareness among people to comply to protect themselves.
