Providing information about the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2024 to central press agencies in Hanoi.
(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of April 26th, at Exhibition House No. 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, the People's Committee of Hai Phong City held a press conference to provide information about the Red Phoenix Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2024 with the theme "Hai Phong - Shining Brightly in the Land of Heritage". Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Le Khac Nam chaired the meeting, with representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and units in attendance.
The Red Flamboyant Flower Festival is a political , cultural, and social event, a distinctive traditional festival and a source of pride for the people of Hai Phong, held annually in May to commemorate the Liberation Day of Hai Phong. The festival aims to promote and showcase the city's historical and cultural traditions and image; build brand recognition and enhance Hai Phong's prestige domestically and internationally; promote diversification and improve the quality of tourism products; contribute to economic restructuring, meeting the expectations of the people of Hai Phong, overseas Vietnamese, and domestic and international tourists; and encourage efforts to exceed the targets and indicators of socio-economic development, national defense, and security plans.
Under the direction of the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Hai Phong, the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2024 will be organized on a city-wide scale, coinciding with the 69th anniversary of the liberation of Hai Phong (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2024) and the recognition of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago as a World Natural Heritage Site by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. The highlight of the festival is the art program themed "Hai Phong - Shining with Heritage," taking place at 8:00 PM on May 11, 2024 (Saturday), broadcast live on VTV1, and rebroadcast by Hai Phong Radio and Television Station and several other provincial and city television stations. This is the first year it will be held at the Central Political and Administrative Square, North Cam River Urban Area, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong City . The program will conclude with a 15-minute high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks display.
The Art Festival program is staged with high artistic quality, showcasing the most typical values and characteristics of Hai Phong's legends, history, cultural heritage, images, and people through live performances combined with AR (Augmented Reality) technology. Particularly noteworthy is the participation and performance of leading Vietnamese and city-renowned artists and singers (expected to include: Vietnam National Traditional Orchestra, Central Brass Band, People's Artist Khanh Hoa, singers: People's Artist Thanh Lam, Thu Phuong, Tung Duong, People's Artist Khanh Hoa, Phuong Linh, Pham Thu Ha, Isaac, Hoa Minzy, Erik... Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre, HT Dance Troupe, Mai Trang Dance Troupe, Sao Tuoi Tho Children's Club… along with nearly 1,000 artists and performers...).
At the event, city leaders introduced and clarified some information of interest to representatives of news agencies regarding the significance and organization of the festival, promoting the value of the Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba Archipelago World Natural Heritage site, as well as other heritage sites in the city...
