Filled with love

During the "Happy Children's Day on June 1st and Graduation Ceremony for 5-Year-Olds in the 2025-2026 School Year" program organized by Hung Thang Kindergarten (Hung Thang Commune), Tran Phuong Tram and 12 other underprivileged children received heartwarming gifts from the school, local authorities, organizations, businesses, and generous donors. These gifts, though not substantial in material value, embodied care, sharing, and provided joy and motivation for these young children to confidently move forward on their journey to adulthood.

According to Ms. Vu Thi Phuong, Principal of Hung Thang Kindergarten: For many years, the school has always received close attention and guidance from the local Party committee and government, as well as the responsible support of the parent-teacher association and many businesses and philanthropists in the care and education of children.

Especially for underprivileged children, this care goes beyond just gifts or material support; it's also a valuable source of emotional encouragement, helping them feel loved and protected by the community. "These acts of kindness have helped to ignite hope, spread compassion, and create a loving educational environment where no child is left behind," Ms. Phuong shared.

Not only in schools, but also through numerous programs supporting children in special circumstances throughout the city, the concern for children is strongly extended. Nguyen Kien Quyet, a 9th-grade student from Le Loi Secondary School and currently being cared for at the Hoa Phuong Social Work and Children's Protection Center, was one of the scholarship recipients at the 2026 Children's Action Month program and could not hide his emotion.

After the tragic loss of their dearest loved one, the two brothers, Quyết and his sibling, went through a period of uncertainty and anxiety about their future. However, the welcome and love from the staff and employees of the Center helped them find a new home, where they received care, education, and grew up in the supportive embrace of the community.

For Quyết, the gifts and scholarships he received were not only of material value but also an invaluable source of spiritual encouragement. They represented the care, trust, and love that society has for children with special circumstances, giving them the motivation to overcome difficulties, strive in their studies and training, and nurture beautiful dreams for the future.

Stories like those of Tran Phuong Tram and Nguyen Kien Quyet are just two examples among many pieces of the puzzle reflecting the care given to children in the city. From families and schools to government agencies, social organizations, businesses, and philanthropists, more and more resources are being connected to care for children, especially vulnerable children, helping them live in a safe environment, study, play, and develop equally like their peers.

Investing in children is investing in the future.

Hai Phong has always paid close attention to and allocated significant resources to investing in infrastructure and conditions for the comprehensive development of children through care and education.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hang, Head of the Population and Children Department (City Health Department), Hai Phong currently has over 1 million children, accounting for approximately 24% of the city's population. Of these, more than 9,000 children are in special circumstances, and more than 11,000 children are at risk of falling into special circumstances.

With a consistent perspective that children are at the center of development policies and a vital resource for the future, the city has always given special attention to the protection, care, and education of children. Beyond temporary support activities, child welfare work in Hai Phong is increasingly being implemented in a comprehensive, sustainable, and in-depth manner. The city implements a synchronized range of mechanisms and policies to ensure the basic rights of children. At the same time, all children, especially those in difficult circumstances, are given equal access to education, healthcare, and social welfare services.

Many specific policies have been and are proving effective, such as tuition support for students at all levels; Tet gifts for children in special circumstances; health insurance support and regular allowances for children from poor and near-poor households; support for medical examinations, treatment, scholarships, and surgery for children with serious illnesses and disabilities. In 2025 alone, the city allocated over 160 billion VND for social welfare work for children. Behind these figures is a strong affirmation of the city's responsibility towards future generations; a determination to ensure that no child is left behind on their development journey.

In 2026, Hai Phong will implement numerous programs and activities in culture, sports, creative experiences, life skills education, digital transformation, reading culture development, and summer activities, contributing to creating a comprehensive development environment for the city's youth.

Speaking at the launch of the 2026 Action Month for Children, Mr. Vu Tien Phung, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, emphasized: "Children today, the world tomorrow." Caring for children means caring for the future of the city and the country. All levels, sectors, organizations, businesses, philanthropists, and the entire society should continue to show concern, support, and work together to build the City Children's Protection Fund; dedicating the best things to children through concrete, practical, and responsible actions.

This message also emphasizes the responsibility of the entire society in caring for children. Every act of care, sharing, and practical action from families, schools, and communities will contribute to providing children with better opportunities for learning, playing, and development. When children are loved, protected, and grow up in a safe and happy environment, it forms the foundation for the sustainable development of the city in the future.
