Turn challenges into opportunities.
Based on practical experience, Ms. Le Anh Van, Principal of Dong Da Primary School (Kim Lien Ward), stated that the school has applied the "4 Proactive" training ecosystem, which includes: Connection - Technology - Innovation - Research, through many rich and diverse activities that have yielded high effectiveness.
In particular, the model of "Schools working together for development, teachers sharing responsibility" between schools in Dong Da district and Soc Son district (formerly) has been regularly implemented. Internal workshops on AI, management information systems (LMS), and educational games are organized. Teachers proactively innovate through competitions for excellent teachers using the flipped classroom model and project-based learning.
Simultaneously, the school proactively innovated its teaching methods and professional development activities based on research into students' learning behavior. The results showed that students increased their enthusiasm and became more proactive in their studies. Teachers mastered technology and "rejuvenated" their teaching methods. The school is moving towards successfully building a "Happy School" according to the standards of Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo .
According to Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Huong, Principal of Tay Mo Secondary School (Tay Mo Ward), the school-to-school development movement in Hanoi has had a positive impact. Schools in the inner city, with favorable conditions and strong staff, have formed partnerships with schools in suburban and remote areas such as Ba Vi, My Duc, and Ung Hoa…
In addition to providing material support, schools organize online model lessons. A skilled teacher from a specialized school in the city center can teach directly via Zoom/Meet to students and colleagues at dozens of suburban locations, who can observe and discuss professional matters. This helps teachers in disadvantaged areas access modern teaching methods without having to travel long distances.
The model of inter-school professional development activities organized into competitive clusters is one of the innovative aspects of the capital city. From October 2025, the entire city will be divided into 30 inter-school professional development clusters for preschool, primary, and secondary education levels. Each cluster will be responsible for implementing educational tasks throughout the school year, such as conducting thematic training, organizing professional development activities according to grade level, and conducting periodic assessments of teaching quality.
“Over the past period, schools in professional cluster No. 13 have organized many professional exchange activities and workshops to help teachers improve their skills in digital technology and childcare. Many practical experiences have been shared, and frank feedback has been given on limitations in management and teaching. This has contributed to the successful implementation of the goals outlined in Resolution 71,” said Ms. Bui Thi Van, Principal of An Khanh B Kindergarten (An Khanh commune).
Furthermore, equipping teachers with skills to prevent school violence is also a priority for school leaders in Hanoi. Ms. Van Quynh Giao, Deputy Principal of Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School (Thanh Liet Ward), emphasized that this is extremely important to help teachers know how to support and advise students, and maintain a safe school environment.
Recently, the school invited Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Le Thu - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Educational Psychology; Head of the Department of Applied Psychology, Faculty of Educational Psychology, Hanoi Pedagogical University - to the school to share in-depth information to help the teaching staff better understand the nature of school violence in the current context, thereby forming a more appropriate and empathetic approach to students.

Using AI technology in education
Recognizing the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in education, schools are also organizing many activities to familiarize teachers and students with AI. Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Hong, Principal of Chuong Duong Secondary School (Hong Ha Ward), said that this is in line with the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training and the city's guidance on piloting AI education in secondary schools.
Hanoi is also a pioneer in collaborating with Google and AI Education to expand the "Google Digital School" model, aiming to create a fundamental transformation in teaching and learning methods, promoting the application of technology and artificial intelligence so that all students, including those in disadvantaged areas, have access to high-quality, equitable, and modern education.
According to representatives from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, after implementing this model, most teachers expressed satisfaction and noted significant time savings in managing, grading assignments, and organizing classes; students became more interested in the lessons. Students' digital skills improved significantly, while their creativity, self-learning, and teamwork abilities were enhanced.
One of the highlights in improving the quality of the teaching staff in Hanoi's education sector is the annual Excellent Teacher Competition at all levels, clearly demonstrating a spirit of innovation. This is not just a competitive activity, but a profound professional forum where each lesson is the culmination of collective intelligence, meticulous preparation, and the professional aspirations of each teacher.
Literature lessons closely followed the curriculum, focusing on organizing activities that encouraged students to read, understand, appreciate, and express their own opinions. A meticulously crafted system of open-ended questions fostered reading comprehension and reasoning skills. The application of information technology and AI was implemented flexibly, effectively supporting teachers in designing learning materials and organizing appropriate learning activities.
All city-level competition lessons are now required to integrate technology. Teachers must present methods for improving teaching quality, supported by digital data. Award-winning electronic lesson plans and simulation software are digitized and uploaded to the department's learning resource repository, allowing teachers citywide to self-study and access them anytime, anywhere.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hien - Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that schools need to continue to strongly innovate professional group and team activities in a practical and effective way; considering professional activities as an important environment for teachers to develop their careers together. They should promote innovation in teaching methods towards developing students' qualities and abilities, and fostering the proactive and creative nature of learners.
