Russia's major shortcoming in the three Oreshnik missile attacks.

GD&TĐ - According to a Russian military blogger, questions have arisen surrounding the three Oreshnik missile attacks on Ukraine.

According to Russian experts, the May 24 attack on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv with Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBMs, MRBMs) served multiple purposes, including the ability to destroy strategic targets, psychologically impact the enemy, and target several domestic objectives.

According to military blogger Kirill Fedorov's assessment on his Telegram channel, this very purpose is the reason for the questions surrounding Russia's use of this particular weapon.

According to him, one of the main problems with using Oreshnik is the complete lack of information among the Russian public about the actual targets hit and the results of the target destruction, which means that the aim of creating a psychological impact on the enemy and some domestic targets has not been achieved.

Each launch of the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile was a noteworthy event, attracting considerable attention from Russian military experts and the public, but ultimately nothing came of it.

"Ultimately, they launched it (Oreshnik), but what comes next? For all three attacks, there was no objective surveillance footage, just like with most other attacks," Fedorov wrote.

The expert stated that one should not expect the Ukrainian authorities to release information about the targets of the attack, or if they do, it cannot be expected to be objective and truthful.

Ukrainian leaders would naturally never publicly disclose the consequences of an attack, but surprisingly, the Russian Ministry of Defense also seems to have no intention of doing so.

For example, during the recent Middle East conflict, Iran, despite having a smaller satellite system, recorded almost every attack and released the results to the world media.

The result of this propaganda campaign was a massive and genuine public support for the Iranian regime and major issues concerning the US-Israel military alliance and its Arab allies.

"We know that the first Oreshnik missile fell at Ukraine's Yuzhmash plant, but the landing locations of the second and third remain unknown," Fedorov lamented.

Because "the objectives of the attack were achieved, all designated targets were hit," and the Russian Ministry of Defense did not take the details seriously.

Based on this approach, Ukraine could easily fabricate outlandish stories, such as the Oreshnik missile destroying three garages, and neither Russian nor Ukrainian citizens would have any way to verify this.

Regarding the target of the May 24 attack, Russian military experts speculate that the Russian strike may have targeted the 148th Aircraft Repair Plant, located in Bila Tserkva, similar to the nature of the initial attack on Yuzhmash, using intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBMs) to strike the enemy's most important target.

It should also be noted that each site attacked by Oreshnik was thoroughly inspected not only by Ukrainian experts but also by NATO military personnel to have the opportunity to examine the remnants of this new Russian weapon.

From this perspective, the use of new, strategically important weapon systems must be truly meaningful, sending a signal not only to the overt enemy but also to the hidden adversaries.

The real hope is that the signal will be sent accurately and reach the intended recipient, along with compelling evidence that leaves Ukraine and the West with no room for denial.
