A barrage of missiles rained down on the capital Kyiv.

GD&TĐ - On the night of May 24th, a barrage of Russian missiles struck the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, including: Oreshnik, Kh-47M2 Kinzhal, 3M22 Zirkon, Iskander-M, S-400, Kh-101, Iskander-K, and Kalibr.

According to Ukrainian military officials, on the night of May 24, the Russian Armed Forces launched a large-scale combined attack on Ukrainian territory, with key targets of Russian missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) being facilities in the Kyiv region and the capital Kyiv.

According to preliminary reports, the targets attacked in the Ukrainian capital included: the Artem plant, the SBU office in the Podolsk district, a facility near a ship repair yard, the former Radialny chemical plant, facilities in the Darnitsky district industrial zone, the Analitpribor plant, the former Rele i Avtomatika plant, and building B of the Lagoda industrial zone.

In the Kyiv region, the targets attacked included: an ATB corporation warehouse, a warehouse within the FIM Chaiki logistics complex in the village of Chaiki. Notably, an airport in the city of Bila Tserkva, about 80km south of Kyiv, was hit by an Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile.

Ukrainian monitoring sources reported widespread destruction and numerous fires, urging residents to stay home, close windows, and avoid going outside due to air pollution.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia had used 690 airborne weapons, including 90 missiles launched from sea, air, and land; as well as 600 drones of various types.

The missiles used included: 1 Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile, 2 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal supersonic ballistic missiles, 3 3M22 Zirkon supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles, 30 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and S-400 anti-aircraft missiles, along with 54 Kh-101, Iskander-K, and Kalibr cruise missiles.

According to preliminary data released by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense , as of 9:30 AM on May 24th, Ukrainian air defense systems had shot down or neutralized 604 Russian flying targets, including 55 missiles and 549 UAVs of various types. Debris from downed UAVs was also found at 23 locations.

According to this announcement, Ukraine determined that 19 Russian missiles likely missed their targets, with only 16 missiles hitting their targets, along with 51 UAVs successfully attacking 54 locations.
