Now in its fourth year, the competition has become one of the flagship events for Korean literature in Vietnam, organized to provide opportunities for Vietnamese students majoring in Korean language and Korean studies to directly adapt and perform Korean literary works on stage, thereby enhancing understanding and promoting deeper exchange with Korean literature.
This year, the competition is expected to be the largest ever, bringing together over 200 students from 11 teams selected from 11 major universities in Hanoi, including: CMC University, Hanoi University of Industry, Dai Nam University, FPT University, Hanoi University, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Nguyen Trai University, Phenikaa University, Thang Long University and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam.
In particular, the repertoire of performances this year is richer and more diverse than in previous years.
From classic literary works like * The Rabbit's Liver* (Byeoljubujeon) and * The Tale of Hong Gil Dong *, to modern novels such as Kim Yoo Jung's *Flower of Dongbaek* , Na Do Hyang's *Sam-ryong the Mute *, Joo Yo Seop's *The Guest and My Mother* , and contemporary works like Hwang Sun Mi's *The Hen Who Escaped* or Hwang Bo Reum's *Welcome to Hyunam-dong Bookstore *… all will be recreated in the form of Vietnamese plays, offering a fresh perspective on the world of Korean literature.

As a result, the first prize went to the skit "The Hen That Escaped the Coop" from Hanoi University. The two second prizes went to the skit "The Story of the Fool Ondal and Princess Pyeng Gang" from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the skit "Welcome to Hyunam-dong Bookstore" from Thang Long University. The two third prizes went to the skit "Dongbeak Flower" from the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the skit "Sam-ryong the Mute" from Phenikaa University.
Through the Korean Literature Drama Competition (which began in 2022), the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam hopes that the younger generation of Vietnam will have the opportunity to experience Korean literature as a vibrant art form on stage instead of just through books; while also creating more motivation to learn Korean and contributing to strengthening cultural ties between the two countries.
