In Can Tho City, the competition has been held for many years. In 2025, the city-level competition attracted 122 students from various schools and educational institutions. The competition rules divided the competition into three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. After the preliminary rounds, 60 teams advanced to the final round.

Contestants had to complete a task with the theme: "Terra Protocol" - Technology for a Sustainable Planet. Terra Protocol envisions a future where humanity is compelled to adopt advanced technologies - such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and blockchain - to build a balanced, sustainable world that adapts to climate change.

The contestants' task is to apply their STEM Robotics knowledge and skills to program and control robots to optimally complete the given tasks. Contestants compete in teams of 2 to 4.

Speaking at the competition, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Tang, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City, stated that in the context of Vietnam's education system strongly implementing digital transformation and comprehensive reform in accordance with Resolution 71 of the Politburo, developing high-quality human resources associated with STEM education is considered a key task.

Therefore, the annual Robothon competition is not only an academic playground, but also a practical activity that contributes to realizing the national strategy for training the younger generation in the digital age.

According to the organizers, the competition was held to create a platform for students to explore and nurture their passion for STEM Robotics, showcase their abilities, and also to interact with friends from other schools.

Through the competition, students are equipped with an integrated set of STEM skills, including programming thinking, design thinking, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability to an ever-changing world.

The total prize money for the competition includes: 3 first prizes (3 million VND each), 5 second prizes (2 million VND each), 8 third prizes (1 million VND each), and 13 consolation prizes (500,000 VND each).

The first prize went to three Robothon teams: Binh Thuy Primary School (beginner level), Ngo Quyen Primary School (intermediate level), and Doan Thi Diem Secondary School (advanced level).

The teams that win first, second, third, and honorable mention prizes will participate in the National Robothon competition on October 19th. Following that, the best teams will be selected to participate in the International Robothon competition on November 23rd in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Robothon is a themed STEM robotics competition for Asian students, held annually for the past 19 years. In Vietnam, the national Robothon competition has been held continuously since 2012.

This is considered a technology playground, attracting the participation of over 10,000 contestants from 500 clubs and 150 schools nationwide, with 88 teams proudly winning high awards at the international level.
