In Can Tho City, the competition has been held for many years. In 2025, the city-level competition attracted 122 students from schools and educational institutions to participate. In the competition rules, it is divided into 3 types of competitions: elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. Through the preliminary rounds, 60 teams entered the final round.

Contestants must complete a task with the theme: "Terra Protocol" - Technology for a sustainable planet. Terra Protocol poses a vision where humanity is forced to adopt advanced technologies - such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, blockchain - to build a balanced, sustainable and climate-resilient world .

The contestants' task is to apply STEM Robotics knowledge and skills to program and control robots to optimally complete tasks according to given requirements. Contestants compete directly in groups of 2 to 4 contestants.

Speaking at the contest, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Tang - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City, said that in the context of Vietnam's education strongly implementing digital transformation and comprehensive innovation in the spirit of Resolution 71 of the Politburo, developing high-quality human resources associated with STEM education is considered a key task.

Therefore, the annual Robothon competition is not only an academic playground, but also a practical activity contributing to the realization of the national strategy on training the young generation in the digital age.

According to the Organizing Committee, the competition is held to create a playground to help students explore and nurture their passion for STEM Robotics, demonstrate their abilities and also be a place to interact with friends from other schools.

Through the competition, students are equipped with an integrated set of skills in the STEM field, including programming thinking, design thinking, problem-solving ability and adaptability to an ever-changing world.

The total prize pool of the contest includes: 3 first prizes (each worth 3 million VND), 5 second prizes (each worth 2 million VND); 8 third prizes (each worth 1 million VND) and 13 consolation prizes (each worth 500,000 VND).

The first prize went to 3 Robothon teams: Binh Thuy Primary School (primary), Ngo Quyen Primary School (intermediate), Doan Thi Diem Secondary School (advanced).

The teams that win first, second, third and consolation prizes will participate in the National Robothon competition held on October 19. The best teams will then be selected to participate in the International Robothon competition on November 23 in Jakarta (Indonesia).

Robothon is a STEM Robotics competition for Asian students, held annually for the past 19 years. In Vietnam, the National Robothon has been held continuously since 2012.

This is considered a technology playground, receiving the participation of over 10,000 contestants from 500 clubs and 150 schools nationwide, of which 88 teams were honored to win high awards at the international level.
