Mr. Vo Hoang Nhan and Ms. Nguyen Tran Thao Linh are both lecturers at Kien Giang University, so they are quite busy with teaching and research. Since having children, the couple agreed that a child's childhood should not only include the companionship of parents and good learning conditions, but also real-life experiences and beautiful memories. Their habit of traveling together started as short weekend trips to change the atmosphere after stressful workdays. Gradually, these trips became a part of their family life. For Ms. Linh and her husband, the important thing is not traveling far or luxuriously, but that the whole family spends time together, eating, talking, and so on.

Every trip leaves behind many wonderful memories and experiences for her family. It could be watching the sunrise together, enjoying a new local dish, or simply sharing joyful stories along the way… All of these become precious "spiritual assets" for Linh and her husband and two children. "Real-life experiences help children develop self-confidence, adaptability, gratitude for life, and acquire valuable knowledge. These trips also help my husband and I recharge, relieve work stress, and return to teaching and life with a more positive mindset," Linh shared.

Linh's family usually prioritizes destinations that are child-friendly, safe, and close to nature. Instead of focusing on "traveling a lot," the couple emphasizes the quality of each trip. Sometimes it's just a short outing within the province, as long as the whole family has time to relax and connect. Before each trip, they usually research the weather, itinerary, local culture, and suitable activities for their children to ensure they are prepared and comfortable during each journey.

For the family of Mr. Phan Chi Tinh, residing in Chau Thanh commune, weekends are a time for family gatherings, sharing joys and sorrows after a week of work and study, so family members cherish these moments together. Mr. Tinh shared: “Every weekend, my wife and I try to spend time taking our children back to our hometown or going somewhere to relax. Seeing our children excitedly exploring new things, immersing themselves in nature, and having real-life experiences, I feel that the trip is more valuable than any material gift.”

To date, Mr. Tinh and his wife have taken their children on many trips both within and outside the province. Wherever they go, Mr. Tinh always researches the place beforehand so he can tell his children stories like a real tour guide. Listening to their father recount the legends and stories of each place, his children are very interested.

According to Mr. Tinh's wife, Ms. Phan Nhu Mai, a family outing is very meaningful, strengthening family bonds and giving children the opportunity to play and connect with nature instead of staying home playing games or watching phones and TV. Ms. Mai excitedly recounted her family's most recent weekend trip to Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone. She and her husband, along with their two children, admired the beauty of the sea and islands, experienced various fun activities, enjoyed diverse cuisine , swam, snorkeled to see coral reefs, caught seafood themselves, and learned about the natural ecosystem.

In reality, changing environments from cramped concrete walls or crowded streets to natural settings has a significant effect on relieving stress, broadening horizons, and increasing knowledge. More importantly, when away from electronic devices, the interaction between parents and children becomes more qualitative. The trip will constantly present different situations, helping children learn problem-solving, survival skills, and self-protection skills.

Through each trip, children will learn many things beyond what they learn in books, learn to love nature, appreciate life, love others, and understand the sacred value of family. Trips and outings together are opportunities for families to enjoy a joyful weekend, and parents can spend more time with their children, playing and bonding with them.
