What is the solution for Thanh Hoa Club?

Thanh Hoa football club is receiving attention from fans following a plea for help from coach Mai Xuan Hop. Specifically, Thanh Hoa FC is facing a crisis due to a lack of finances to address its personnel issues before Round 12 of the V-League 2025-2026.

However, in a difficult situation, the 2-2 draw against reigning champions Nam Dinh on the evening of February 1st was a huge morale boost for Thanh Hoa FC. Despite having only 13-14 players available, the home team still secured a point worth more than gold thanks to their fighting spirit and refusal to give up.

But without salaries or bonuses, coach Mai Xuan Hop is unsure how the team will maintain the aforementioned spirit. "The situation is very tense. We have about 17 players and no clear plan yet. The team needs to have the FIFA ban lifted first before we can add more players," said Mai Xuan Hop.

Consequently, since the arrest of Club President Cao Tien Doan, the team's finances have been "frozen." Players have only received salaries up to October 2025, while the coaching staff has only received salaries for August. The team was sued by four foreign players at FIFA, resulting in FIFA banning Thanh Hoa Club from registering new players.

The Thanh Hoa players can only encourage each other to train and compete, even though they know they haven't received any signing bonuses or match prize money. The most enthusiastic are still the natives of Thanh Hoa such as Le Quoc Phuong, Nguyen Ngoc My, and Trinh Van Loi. Regarding finances and personnel, the club first needs money to pay off debts to the four foreign players in order to get FIFA permission to register new players. Next, they need to recruit and replace players for the second half of the 2025-2026 V-League season.

Coach Mai Xuan Hop stated that the club has prepared a replacement for Lucas Ribamar, along with a domestic player, Nguyen Huu Dung, who is a native of Thanh Hoa. Regarding a solution, Coach Hop can only wait for the team's leadership. The appeal for intervention from Thanh Hoa province and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is the last resort to prevent Thanh Hoa Club from falling into a deadlock.

On February 6th, the team will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for their match against the home team, Ho Chi Minh City Police, in Round 13. While hoping the entire team will once again take to the field with a spirit of overcoming difficulties, fans still hope the team will find a fundamental solution to ensure the Thanh Hoa players' feet move with the utmost fluidity.
