Former YG Entertainment star passes away at his home.

Choi Whee-sung, a South Korean R&B star with a career spanning four decades, a prominent figure in the second generation of K-pop under YG Entertainment, was found dead at his home at the age of 43. The cause of death is under investigation.

According to a report from South Korean police, the male artist, formerly under YG Entertainment, was found collapsed at around 6:29 PM in his Seoul apartment. Emergency services were dispatched after receiving a call from Wheesung's family, but were unable to do anything.

The male artist was found collapsed this evening at his apartment in Seoul.

The information further states: "To date, no signs of external intrusion or intent to commit a crime have been found. Whether a will was made and the specific circumstances of death are under investigation."

Wheesung's management company, Tajoy Entertainment, also released a statement: "The singer was found in cardiac arrest and was subsequently pronounced dead." Tajoy also requested that the public refrain from spreading unverified rumors.

Wheesung debuted in 2002 with his first album. Like a movie . He is famous for hit songs such as "Is It Not Possible ?", "With Me", "The Day We Meet Again" , "Terminal Illness" , and "In a Year".

He is also highly regarded for his songwriting skills, being behind many popular songs, including Lee Hyori 's HEY MR.BIG (boys in girl) , T-ara 's Going Crazy Because of You , Orange Caramel's Magical Girl , TWICE 's Dance The Night Away , Ailee 's Heaven , and many more. He was formerly an artist under the renowned YG Entertainment.

It is known that before his death, he had scheduled a concert with solo artist KCM on March 15th in Daegu . Wheesung had posted a message on social media four days prior that read: "Dieting is over. See you on March 15th."

Previously, Wheesung received a two-year suspended sentence for illegal propofol abuse in 2021. Specifically, he was convicted of spending 6.5 million won (over 114 million VND) on 12 propofol prescriptions between September and November 2019. Five years prior, in April 2020, he was found unconscious after overdosing on etomidate, a sedative similar to propofol.
