The Tam Giang Bridge project has a total investment of over 151 billion VND, with a bridge length of 210.5 m and approach roads at both ends totaling 469.5 m. The project aims to improve infrastructure, meet socio -economic development requirements, and ensure national security and defense.
Construction on the project began in 2017 and was expected to be completed in July 2018. However, after several adjustments to the project timeline, it remains unfinished to this day.
According to the Quang Nam Investment and Construction Project Management Board, the project currently requires approximately 10,000 m3 of fill soil. However, the local soil resources are scarce and cannot meet the project's needs, significantly impacting the construction of the roadbed section leading to Tam Giang commune (formerly).

After the dissolution of the district-level authority, the project was transferred to the Quang Nam Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board. However, to date, the competent authority has not yet allocated the necessary funds, causing difficulties in the implementation process.
Furthermore, the project has been delayed for many years due to compensation and land clearance issues. Currently, the construction contractor is facing financial difficulties, which is hindering the implementation of the project.
In light of these obstacles, the investor requests the Da Nang City People's Committee to resolve the difficulties regarding the need for fill soil for the project, and to promptly allocate funds to complete the remaining work.
The City Land Development Center is directed to expedite the compensation and land clearance process for the Tam Giang Bridgehead Landscape Improvement Project on the Nui Thanh town side, and to hand over the land for the construction of the drainage ditch.
Currently, the bridge is in a state of disrepair, with structural damage affecting traffic safety on the route. Therefore, the Project Management Board proposes that the City People's Committee consider and approve the immediate plan to complete the asphalt paving of the bridge surface and approximately 240m of approach roads on both sides, connecting them to the existing road, and supplementing traffic organization to hand over for operation to alleviate traffic congestion on the old Tam Giang Bridge. The remaining items will continue to be implemented and completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.
The project's implementation period expires on August 26, 2025. Therefore, the Management Board requests the City People's Committee to consider and agree to extend the contract execution period for the construction package of the project until the end of November 2025.

During a site inspection, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, requested that the relevant units urgently complete the project. Specifically, the second layer of asphalt paving must be completed by October 30th, ensuring smooth traffic flow on the new bridge to alleviate congestion on the old one. The entire project must be completed and put into operation by 2025.
Regarding the project timeline, Mr. Tran Nam Hung approved the adjustment of the project schedule and emphasized that this would be the final timeframe for this project.
