Da Nang: Many practical and humane programs for people during Tet

For the Lunar New Year of the Snake in 2025, Da Nang continues to affirm the spirit of "leaving no one behind" through many practical and humane programs.

For policy beneficiaries and vulnerable groups, the total budget for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations in 2025 is over 126 billion VND. Of this, over 108.4 billion VND comes from the Da Nang city budget, over 7.4 billion VND from the central government budget, and over 10.2 billion VND from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang city. In addition, the city will provide an extra 500,000 VND in cash gifts.

In addition, Da Nang will provide a cash gift of 1 million VND to workers, civil servants, and laborers in difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work accidents, natural disasters, or serious illnesses, and those who cannot return home for Tet (Lunar New Year). Simultaneously, support will be provided to members of the Veterans Association suffering from serious illnesses or difficult circumstances; members of the Thai Phien Club who are frequently ill; and gifts will be given to soldiers in Truong Sa (Spratly Islands). The city will directly visit and give gifts to 50 units and localities, and assign departments and agencies to visit and give gifts to 33 social welfare facilities and mass organizations.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City will present Tet gifts to ethnic minority households in the three communes of Hoa Bac, Hoa Phu, and Hoa Ninh (Hoa Vang District) in accordance with Resolution No. 275/2019/NQ-HĐND. In addition, a cash gift of 500,000 VND from the city budget and a gift of 200,000 VND in kind from the "For the Poor" Fund will be provided to the three communes of Hoa Bac, Hoa Phu, and Hoa Ninh.

This year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City is providing a cash gift of 500,000 VND from the "For the Poor" Fund to near-poor households, households with particularly difficult circumstances, households with sudden and severe difficulties, and 100 gifts per organization for members with difficult circumstances from 9 member organizations. Regarding the central-level Tet gift support, two levels are planned: 600,000 VND and 300,000 VND.

The Da Nang City Federation of Labor (LĐLĐ) also organized the "Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" program with many activities: the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market; the Trade Union Bus Trip; the Trade Union Train, etc., to take care of Tet for union members and disadvantaged workers. Specifically, at the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market, the City Federation of Labor will distribute 40,000 shopping vouchers (100,000 VND/voucher) to union members and workers in the city.

Providing Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts to 20,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, including those who have suffered work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, been affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, lost their jobs, or had their working hours reduced… (1 million VND per case).

Through the Trade Union's Tet Journey Program, the City Federation of Labor Unions is supporting 2,000 train and bus tickets and organizing free bus trips to take union members, workers, and their families back to their hometowns to celebrate the traditional Tet holiday. The buses will depart from Da Nang to the following provinces: Quang Tri, Quang Binh , Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Gia Lai…

The Da Nang City Federation of Labor will organize visits, provide encouragement, and give gifts to 1,000 workers who did not return home for Tet, workers in difficult circumstances at self-managed worker groups in rented housing areas; workers at the Hoa Cam Industrial Park Workers' Housing; and single mothers.

Joining hands with the whole country to help the poor and ensure no one is left behind, the activities to care for the lives of disadvantaged people in Da Nang during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025 not only allow them to celebrate a warm and joyful traditional New Year but also demonstrate a spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and abundant humanity.
