At around 12 noon on November 1, the authorities found the victim's body and handed it over to local authorities and family to carry out procedures according to regulations.
Initial information identified the victim as Mr. D. V. D (born in 1998), residing in Bac Son hamlet, Thung Nai commune, Phu Tho province. Before that, Mr. D went to a wedding party, on the way back, while stepping onto the bridge to go to the floating area, where boat passengers are picked up and dropped off, he slipped and fell into the lake. The victim fell about 7 meters from the shore, in an area with a depth of 7-8 meters. Although there were witnesses and people jumped in to help, due to deep water and strong currents, the initial rescue effort was unsuccessful, and the victim sank to the bottom of the lake.
Immediately after receiving the news, Center 114 mobilized forces and vehicles of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Hoa Binh area, coordinated with the Waterway Traffic Police Team of Hoa Binh area and Thung Nai Commune Police to quickly arrive at the scene, deploying search and rescue work on the night of October 31.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force presided over and coordinated with the Waterway Traffic Police, along with local forces mobilized by the People's Committee of Thung Nai commune, to search at night using specialized vehicles.
Phu Tho Provincial Police recommend that people always comply with regulations on waterway traffic safety, wear life jackets when traveling by boat and be careful when passing through lakeside areas and ferry terminals, especially in dark and wet weather conditions.
