At approximately 12 PM on November 1st, authorities found the victim's body and handed it over to the local government and family for the necessary procedures.
Initial information identifies the victim as Mr. D. V. D (born in 1998), residing in Bac Son hamlet, Thung Nai commune, Phu Tho province. Prior to the incident, Mr. D attended a wedding party and, on his way back, while stepping onto a bridge to reach the floating dock area where passengers board boats to and from shore, slipped and fell into the lake. The victim fell approximately 7 meters from the shore, in an area with a depth of 7-8 meters. Although witnesses jumped in to help, the initial rescue efforts were unsuccessful due to the deep water and strong current, and the victim sank to the bottom of the lake.
Immediately after receiving the report, the 114 Center mobilized forces and equipment from the Hoa Binh area Fire and Rescue Team, in coordination with the Hoa Binh area Waterway Traffic Police Team and the Thung Nai Commune Police, to quickly arrive at the scene and deploy search and rescue operations on the night of October 31st.
The Fire and Rescue Police Force, in coordination with the Waterway Traffic Police and local forces mobilized by the Thung Nai Commune People's Committee, conducted a search throughout the night using specialized equipment.
The Phu Tho Provincial Police advise people to always comply with regulations on waterway traffic safety, wear life jackets when traveling by boat, and exercise caution when crossing areas near lakes and ferry terminals, especially in dark or humid weather conditions.
