“The Words of the Leader Resound Across the Nation” is an art exchange program recently organized by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Veterans Association, and the Provincial Literature and Arts Association of Quang Ninh Province to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament (1969-2024). The program harmoniously combines historical films, meaningful exchanges, and unique artistic performances, leaving a lasting and moving impression on the audience.

The program, held in Ha Long City on the evening of October 4th, was an emotionally charged journey that transported viewers back to the historic month of May 1965, when President Ho Chi Minh began writing the first lines of the "top secret" document. The moving footage showed President Ho Chi Minh sitting in a rattan chair or typing at a wooden desk, complete with a Hermet typewriter, writing or typing the Testament (the 1965 version), and the moment at 9:47 AM on September 2nd, 1969, when he passed away after a heart attack, becoming a "pause in history."
Besides the documentary footage about the Testament, the program was also interspersed with touching interludes. This included the story of veteran Le Long Trieu, who fought for 19 years in the southeastern battlefield, bearing permanent injuries with a bullet still lodged in his brain and his legs no longer fully functional. He tearfully recounted tragic yet heroic stories, about the losses that brought glory to the country, and the burning passion of young people who answered the call of the Fatherland during a time of bombs and bullets. The entire audience was moved to tears as he sang the poignant song "Cuc Oi" by Nguyen Trung Nguyen, set to a poem by Yen Thanh. Regarding the atrocities committed by the American invaders during the 1968 bombing campaign against North Vietnam, which killed 10 young female volunteer soldiers at Dong Loc Crossroads: “The squad lined up horizontally / I don’t see you coming back, Cuc! / Nine friends were gathered together / Only you are missing / Where do you lie amidst the smoke and fire? / Dong Loc is desolate, like a bird separated from its flock…”

It also includes the poignant and heartfelt lyrics of the song "The Homeland Guides Our Steps," composed and performed by young musician and singer Bui Tuan Ngoc, a son of the Quang Ninh mining region. Each melody and lyric is a tribute from the younger generation to the heroes and martyrs who fell for the independence and unification of the nation: "Every step, every path we take each day / Is a month of struggle, day and night hearing the sound of bombs falling / Is when we lose loved ones, we have to suppress our tears / With firm hands on our guns, shoulder to shoulder, comrades protect the homeland…"

The meticulously staged artistic performances, featuring a collection of poignant songs about President Ho Chi Minh performed by singers and artists from Quang Ninh such as Duc Bac, Duc Luong, Thanh Tam, and Phuong Anh, along with flute and zither solos by members of the Provincial Veterans Association, transported the audience into a rich and emotionally charged musical space. These performances depicted the image of President Ho Chi Minh – the symbol of the national liberation struggle, of friendship, of national unity, and of international solidarity. It also represented the journey of over half a century under the leadership of the Party, during which the entire nation united in determination to fulfill President Ho Chi Minh's Last Will and Testament.
For the past 55 years, President Ho Chi Minh's Testament has remained a guiding light, a source of encouragement and motivation for the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ninh province to steadfastly move forward and achieve victory not only in past historical periods but also in the present and future. The Party Committee, government, and all the people of Quang Ninh are united in their devotion to Uncle Ho, steadfastly following the path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho, and are committed to building Quang Ninh into a "vast and peaceful" land as Uncle Ho instructed.
