Comrade Le Hoang Vu will serve as Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Veterans Association for the term 2025-2030.

On December 15th and 16th, the An Giang Provincial Veterans Association held its 8th Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term.

Attending the congress were Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association ; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Le Thanh Viet, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from provincial departments and agencies; and more than 250 delegates representing over 35,000 members throughout the province.

Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, delivered a speech at the congress.

Speaking at the congress, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, highly appreciated the achievements of the Veterans Associations at all levels in the province during the past term.

The comrade emphasized that 2026 is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, requiring the Veterans Association to continue affirming its role as a loyal and reliable political force of the Party, the State, and the People; and effectively implement the resolutions of the Central Committee and the province.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that all levels of the Veterans' Association play a core role in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, promoting the "Veterans Helping Each Other Reduce Poverty and Excel in Economic Activities " movement in conjunction with building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; fostering a spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement, striving to eliminate poverty among veteran households by the end of the term. At the same time, focus on building a strong and comprehensive Association organization, innovating its operational methods to be closer to the people and grassroots, linked to digital transformation, contributing to building a relatively developed An Giang province and improving the lives of its people.

Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association, and Le Thanh Viet, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Giang province, presented the decision and flowers to congratulate the Executive Committee of the An Giang Provincial Veterans Association for the 2025-2030 term.

For the 2025-2030 term, the congress unanimously agreed on 7 targets, 4 tasks and solutions, and 3 breakthroughs. These include striving for over 95% of the Association's organizations to successfully complete their annual tasks; reducing the percentage of poor veteran households to below 0.2%; keeping the overdue loan rate from the Social Policy Bank below 0.8%; and digitizing 100% of member records…

During the 2022-2025 term, the An Giang Provincial Veterans Association achieved many significant milestones, including eliminating 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses among its members; hundreds of members becoming business owners and cooperative owners, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers; and actively participating in social welfare and educating the younger generation about traditional values.

The Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association presented flowers to congratulate the congress.

The Congress announced the decision of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association appointing 35 comrades to the Executive Committee, 11 comrades to the Standing Committee, and 7 comrades to the Inspection Committee of the An Giang Provincial Veterans Association, 8th term, 2025-2030. Comrade Le Hoang Vu was appointed Chairman of the An Giang Provincial Veterans Association, 8th term, 2025-2030; and two Vice-Chairmen of the An Giang Provincial Veterans Association were appointed: Ho Van Dau and Nguyen Huu Thanh.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of An Giang, presented a banner from the Provincial Party Committee to congratulate the congress.
