Opening Ceremony of the An Giang Province Traditional Music and Singing Contest

On the evening of December 16th, the Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, organized the opening ceremony of the An Giang Provincial Traditional Music and Singing Competition, themed "Cultural Activities Week - Building New Rural Areas in 2025". Mr. Nguyen Khanh Hiep, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang province, attended the event.

The 2025 An Giang Provincial Traditional Music and Singing Competition attracted 24 participating units from communes and wards throughout the province.

Each participating team in the competition will create a program of traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music consisting of 3 pieces belonging to the 20 traditional melodies (no repetition of melodies) and a Vọng Cổ song in 8 or 16-beat rhythm.

Each contestant can only register to perform one solo act and may participate in acts in other genres.

Leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports of An Giang province presented commemorative flags to the participating units in the competition.

The entries praised the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam , President Ho Chi Minh, and President Ton Duc Thang; honored the history, revolutionary traditions, national cultural identity, and the formation and development of An Giang province; and celebrated the spirit of creative labor, contributions to building new rural areas, as well as outstanding socio-economic achievements.

At the same time, we will promote and educate about the meaning and importance of the new rural development program in accordance with the guidelines, policies, and strategies of the Party and the State; and encourage and promote new creative works with "New Rural Development" as the central theme…
