This is a significant step in the strategy to expand the European flight network during the 2025–2030 period, meeting the growing demand for tourism , business, trade, and visiting relatives between the two regions.

After more than 12 hours of flying, flight VN39, departing from Tan Son Nhat Airport, landed safely at Copenhagen Airport.
The first flight, VN39, departed from Tan Son Nhat Airport at 10:45 PM on December 15th using a wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and landed safely at Copenhagen Airport after more than 12 hours of flight, bringing over 200 passengers to the Danish capital. In the opposite direction, flight VN38 took off from Copenhagen at 10:50 AM local time on December 16th and landed in Ho Chi Minh City on the same day, serving over 300 passengers.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Copenhagen route operates regularly three times a week. Flights from Ho Chi Minh City depart on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings; the return flights from Copenhagen depart on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings. The opening of this new route provides passengers in Vietnam with more convenient connections to Denmark and the Nordic region, while also meeting the growing travel needs of the Vietnamese community there, estimated at around 70,000 people. This route is expected to significantly boost the increasing number of Nordic tourists visiting Vietnam in recent years.
The direct flight route between Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen is also one of the notable milestones in Vietnam Airlines' 30-year journey, demonstrating its commitment to continuously expanding intercontinental connectivity, enhancing the role of the national airline, and further spreading the image, culture, and people of Vietnam to the world.
