On May 16, the Department of Industry and Trade of Cao Bang province coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) to organize the opening ceremony of the "Week of introducing products of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Cao Bang province in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025".
The program takes place at 92-96 Nguyen Hue (District 1) until May 18.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Dong Thi Kieu Oanh - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Cao Bang province - said that the locality is gradually and effectively exploiting the advantages of developing OCOP products, typical rural industrial products, and typical specialty products of the province.
"Not just a trade promotion activity, this event is also an important lever to help local agricultural products conquer the Ho Chi Minh City market, a major consumption center of the country, supporting businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities in Cao Bang province to promote, connect, and promote consumption," Ms. Oanh emphasized.
More than 15 enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments of Cao Bang province participated in displaying nearly 80 types of typical rural industrial products, OCOP products, and typical products of the province.
Accordingly, the main products are black jelly, dong vermicelli, five-color vermicelli, Bao Lac fragrant sticky rice, banh chung, banh khao, Giao Co Lam tea, Kolia tea, sausage, smoked meat, hand-held agricultural tools of Phuc Sen blacksmith village... and many other agricultural products.
On the opening day, many people and businesses in Ho Chi Minh City came to visit, shop, and learn about investment cooperation opportunities.
According to the leader of the Cao Bang industry and trade sector, the province currently has 61 products recognized as typical rural industrial products at the provincial level, of which 15 products are recognized at the regional level, 5 products are recognized at the national level; there are 144 products that have achieved OCOP standard certification at the provincial level.
Notably, some processed agricultural products of Cao Bang such as organic spice powder, dong vermicelli, five-color dried vermicelli... have initially conquered demanding markets such as the United States, Japan, and the EU. Products processed from bamboo, red polygonum multiflorum extract, glutinous rice and herbs... are also highly appreciated by international customers.
Ms. Cao Thi Phi Van - Deputy Director of ITPC - said that in recent times, Ho Chi Minh City has proactively cooperated and linked regions, creating conditions to promote the potential and strengths of the Northern and North Central provinces, expanding the common development space towards sustainable goals.
The week introducing products of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Cao Bang province is within the framework of the socio -economic development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and the northern and north central localities.
Besides displaying and selling products, the week also introduces the culture, tourism, cuisine ... of Cao Bang.
A variety of traditional products and handicrafts of Cao Bang ethnic people are introduced.
On the opening day, famous Cao Bang specialties such as dong vermicelli, five-color vermicelli... attracted the attention of many people.
