Public university with the "biggest" revenue in Vietnam

Vietnam currently has 12 universities with revenue of more than 1,000 billion, including 8 public schools and 4 private schools.

8 public schools include: Hanoi University of Science and Technology, National Economics University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.

4 private universities include:FPT University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Van Lang University.

For Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics alone, total revenue in 2024 is 1,887 billion VND. Of the 1,343 billion VND revenue from education and training, tuition fees account for 1,281 billion VND, the rest is from contracts, state and external sponsorship. Other income is 61 billion VND.

Notably, the income from science and technology transfer of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics is 520.8 billion, accounting for 27% of revenue. This is the university with the largest revenue from science and technology among the universities with revenue of thousands of billions at present.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy

The total revenue of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2024 is 1,123 billion VND. Of which, revenue from education and training is 846 billion, including 821 billion from tuition fees, the rest from contracts, state and external funding, and other sources of revenue. Income from scientific research and technology transfer of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy is 105 billion VND. Other income is 172 billion VND.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology

Total revenue in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is 1,184 billion VND. Of which, revenue from education and training is 1,054 billion. Of which, tuition fees account for 873 billion, the rest comes from contracts, sponsorships and other sources. Income from scientific research and technology transfer of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is 126.5 billion VND. Other income is 418 million VND.

Ton Duc Thang University

Ton Duc Thang University's total revenue in 2024 is 1,224 billion VND. Of the 1,129 billion VND revenue from education and training, tuition fees account for 1,072 billion, the rest is from contracts and state and external funding. The university's income from scientific research and technology transfer is 44.8 billion VND. Other income reaches 49.7 billion VND.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology

Hanoi University of Science and Technology's total revenue in 2024 will reach 1,502 billion VND, an increase of nearly 80 billion compared to the previous year. Of the 1,343 billion VND revenue from education and training, tuition fees account for 1,277 billion VND, the rest comes from contracts, sponsorships and the budget. Revenue from scientific research and technology transfer will reach 101 billion VND, a slight decrease of 1 billion VND compared to 2023. Other income is 58 billion VND.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education

Total revenue in 2024 of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education is 1,120 billion. Of which, tuition fees account for 976 billion VND, funding from the budget and outside is only 13 billion. Revenue from scientific research and technology transfer alone is 46 billion; Revenue from other sources is 67 billion.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry has not yet made public its finances for 2024. In 2023, the total revenue of this school is 1,011 billion VND. Of the 916 billion VND revenue from education and training, tuition fees account for 907 billion VND. Revenue from scientific research and technology transfer is 4.3 billion VND. Other revenue sources are 90 billion VND.

National Economics University

The National Economics University has not yet disclosed its finances for 2024. In 2023, the school's total revenue was 1,408 billion, of which 1,014 billion was from tuition fees. Revenue from scientific research and technology transfer was 42 billion, from other sources was 324 billion, and from the budget was 28 billion.
