This is one of the projects implemented by VNU, practically celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2.
The project has a total investment of 60 billion VND, is modernly designed, directly serving training and research in the fields of: Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Networks and Information Security.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hieu - Permanent Deputy Director of VNU said that the project has strategic significance in the context that the Party and State identify science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as key factors for national development. This is also a testament to VNU's pioneering role in training high-quality human resources, serving the cause of protecting digital sovereignty , cyber security and sustainable socio-economic development. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hieu believes that this project will create momentum, force and new spirit for the cause of building and developing VNU in Hoa Lac.
Along with the Multi-purpose Experimental House, in 2025, VNU will simultaneously deploy many strategic construction clusters in Hoa Lac, creating an increasingly clear appearance of a modern urban university, including: VNU Administration House - the center for administration and coordination of the entire university; Vietnam - Japan University - an international cooperation project with Japan, completing a synchronous facility; University of Technology - expanding new facilities focusing on AI, semiconductors, and quantum technology. In parallel, from the 2025 - 2026 school year, the dormitory system of building B-C will be put into use, increasing the total number of boarding places in Hoa Lac for more than 4,500 students, contributing to the formation of a convenient and civilized learning and living environment right in Hoa Lac.
VNU successfully moved its headquarters and training facilities to Hoa Lac, realizing the aspirations of many generations of VNU leaders, scientists and students. The successful transfer of its headquarters and training facilities to Hoa Lac demonstrates the determination of VNU leaders to implement a project that has lasted for many years, through many generations of leaders, with many difficulties in capital, site clearance and potential risks of waste in the use of state resources and assets.

Up to now, VNU and most of its member units and affiliated units have officially moved their headquarters and presence in Hoa Lac. By the end of 2025, the VNU urban area will reach over 480,000m2 of construction floor space, with nearly 20,000 full-time students, expected to reach 30,000 by 2027, marking the transformation of VNU towards a new development space in terms of facilities, academic life and university administration.
With an area of over 1,100 hectares, VNU in Hoa Lac is oriented to develop according to the green - smart - creative university urban model, integrating learning, research, innovation, start-up and community activities spaces.
The groundbreaking of the Multi-purpose Experimental House, along with other key projects currently being implemented, not only meets the immediate requirements for training and research, but also creates a foundation for VNU to affirm its position as a leading research university in the region, accompanying the national strategy on science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.
