Congress of Lai Chau Provincial Ornamental Plants Association, term II, 2024-2029

(BLC) - On June 23, Lai Chau Provincial Ornamental Plants Association (LAO) held the 2nd Congress, term 2024-2029.

Comrade Nguyen Huu Van - Chairman of Vietnam Student Association; leaders of some departments, branches, sectors, provincial unions; districts, cities and nearly 100 members of clubs in the Provincial Student Association attended the congress.

During the past term, Lai Chau Provincial Association of Tree Cultivation focused on consolidating and developing its members; coordinating with the Vietnam Association of Science and Technology and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Tree Cultivation to organize scientific seminars on developing trees and shade trees with high economic value for members and farmers. Regularly organizing activities to display and exhibit trees, annual tree cultivation competitions, and organizing spring flower fairs on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

Up to now, artisans, gardeners, and households have boldly invested in infrastructure, finance to build garden houses, irrigation systems, fertilizers, and techniques to care for orchids, ornamental plants, and bonsai trees, which have high economic value, gradually becoming a sustainable solution to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, contributing to the completion of criteria for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. According to statistics, up to 2/5 of members participate in SVC production and business. The remaining members develop flowers and ornamental plants for playing, decoration, and family grounds, creating a green, clean, and beautiful landscape.

In the 2024-2029 term, the Provincial Student Association will continue to innovate and build a positive and effective action program. Strive to have 100% of districts and cities with associations by the end of the term; develop the student movement comprehensively, sustainably and in many forms. Build and develop the student economy into a high-value ecological economic sector, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality in the direction of greening new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

In their speeches at the congress, delegates expressed their high consensus and agreement with the results achieved in the first term; the goals and directions for the second term and shared experiences in caring for and developing orchids, ornamental plants and ways to develop the economy from SVC of typical gardeners in the province.

Speaking at the congress, comrade Nguyen Huu Van - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Student Affairs congratulated and praised the results that the Lai Chau Provincial Association of Student Affairs has achieved in the past term. At the same time, he suggested that the Provincial Association of Student Affairs should continue to promote the achieved results, step up propaganda work, mobilize members to operate in accordance with the objectives and charter of the association, closely follow the policy of agricultural and rural development, and develop the SVC economy. Exploit the local strengths of cool climate to develop SVC types, especially orchid products, to create goods for the market, increasing income for members.

Organize SVC exhibitions and displays well. Further promote the role of members in building new rural areas; preserve and develop some rare orchid species originating in Lai Chau.

Representatives of the Vietnam Student Association and the Department of Home Affairs of Lai Chau province presented flowers to congratulate the Executive Committee of the Student Association, term II, 2024-2029.

At the congress, delegates voted to elect the Executive Committee of the Student Association, term II, 2024-2029, consisting of 16 comrades. Comrade Lo Van Chinh - Chairman of the Student Association of Lai Chau province, term I, was re-elected as Chairman of the Student Association, term II. The congress voted to pass the Congress Resolution.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of VSC awarded certificates of merit to 1 collective; the Executive Committee of the Provincial VSC Association awarded certificates of merit to 16 individuals with outstanding achievements in the association's work in the period 2018-2023.
