Buddha's Birthday at Keo Pagoda

On the morning of May 25 (April 7, Quy Mao year) at Keo Pagoda, Duy Nhat Commune, Vu Thu District, the Buddha's Birthday Ceremony took place on Buddhist calendar 2567 - Gregorian calendar 2023.
Comrade Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council presented flowers of congratulations.
Attending and congratulating were comrades: Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van Giang, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches, and leaders of Vu Thu district.
On the side of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), there were: Most Venerable Thich Thanh Duc, Vice Supreme Patriarch of the VBS; Most Venerable Thich Thanh Hoa, Member of the Central Executive Council of the VBS, Head of the Executive Committee of the VBS in Thai Binh province, along with Venerables of the VBS Patriarchal Council and the Executive Council of the VBS; and Buddhist Executive Committees of localities in the province.
In a respectful and solemn atmosphere, more than 1,000 guests, monks, nuns, Buddhists, and tourists from all over listened to the representative of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the province read the message of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha on the occasion of the Great Buddha's Birthday, Buddhist year 2567; and the speech on the Great Buddha's Birthday, Buddhist year 2567.
The Buddha's Birthday is an occasion for monks, nuns, laypeople and Buddhists to review the tradition of "protecting the country and bringing peace to the people" that has been crystallized over more than 2,000 years of Vietnamese Buddhism. With the ideology of compassion and forgiveness, Buddhist teachings have contributed to embellishing Vietnamese culture with the virtue of loving life, a spirit of peace and tolerance, for the happiness of all.
At the Buddha's Birthday Ceremony, delegates, monks, nuns and Buddhists performed the Buddha's birthday chanting ceremony, Buddha bathing ceremony, offered flowers to Buddha, and prayed for peace and prosperity for the country.
