With enthusiasm starting from the grassroots level, the number of entries increased sharply.
The competition was organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, covering all 99 communes and wards of the province. Following the provincial launch ceremony, the Culture and Social Affairs Departments of the localities directed schools to quickly implement the competition in various flexible and creative forms.

The systematic and widespread dissemination of information, integrated with the activities of the Youth Union, the Young Pioneers, the school library, clubs, reading festivals, and flag-raising ceremonies, created a vibrant atmosphere. The school has approximately 1,800 students, but this year, Lang Giang No. 2 High School received over 3,000 entries, a significant increase compared to previous years.
Ms. Trinh Thu Huyen, Principal of Lang Giang No. 2 High School, said: “Building on the reading movement that has been maintained for many years, the school launched the competition early, assigning the Youth Union and Literature teachers to directly guide and encourage students to participate. Teachers guided students on writing skills, supported them in developing ideas, and provided video presentation skills to help them invest seriously in both content and form. As a result, 100% of the school's students participated, with many submitting two entries, contributing to spreading the reading culture within the school.”
Not only schools in central areas, but also many schools in rural and mountainous regions, as well as continuing education centers, have actively participated this year. According to the Organizing Committee, the competition attracted students from 583 schools across four educational levels in the province, with nearly 200,000 written entries and video clips, a significant increase compared to previous years.
Improving the quality of exam papers and spreading humane messages.
This year's Reading Culture Ambassador competition shows a clear shift in quality. Many schools not only focus on quantity but also invest in guiding contestants to enhance the depth of content, their ability to appreciate and express creativity in each entry. For example, Bac Ninh Specialized High School submitted many meticulously crafted entries, hundreds of pages long, beautifully presented, and logically reasoned.
At the primary school level, schools such as Tuong Giang Primary School (Tam Son Ward), Dinh Bang 2 Primary School (Tu Son Ward), Suoi Hoa Primary School (Kinh Bac Ward)... At the secondary school level, the entry by Duong Thi Huong Cuc, class 8A, Song Van Secondary School (Ngoc Thien Commune) made a strong impression on the judging panel. Her hundreds-page handwritten essay shared her feelings about the book "Childhood Days" by writer Nguyen Hong, presented in a scientific manner, accompanied by many vivid illustrations.

In particular, she designed a model of a sailboat carrying the message "Books and the aspiration to reach further," expressing dreams, beliefs, and the journey of discovering knowledge through each page of a book. Huong Cuc confided: "I came to the competition with a love for books - silent friends that always open up vast horizons of knowledge before my eyes and nourish my soul every day. The character of little An in the work 'Childhood Days' has strongly inspired me, guiding me towards a positive lifestyle, knowing how to love, share, and become a useful member of society."
According to the judges, the quality of this year's entries has significantly improved compared to last year. Contestants adhered closely to the competition requirements while still demonstrating creativity in conveying their messages. Many video clips also showed serious investment in technical aspects, setting, and presentation. They demonstrated the ability to utilize information technology, create engaging scripts, and incorporate appropriate and captivating visuals and background music.
A highlight of this year's competition was the selection of many entries that featured books about their hometowns, local figures, or stories rich in humanistic values that promote traditional values and cultivate beautiful ideals for students. Notably, the students contributed many feasible plans and initiatives to promote reading, suitable for their age group, especially the application of information technology to spread reading culture to the community.
The closing ceremony and awards presentation for the competition are expected to be held in early June, with 4 team awards and 89 individual awards. According to Mr. Nguyen Dac Hong, Director of Bac Ninh Provincial Library No. 1 and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, after 8 years of organization, the Reading Culture Ambassador Competition in the province has increasingly affirmed its appeal and practical significance, not only becoming a beneficial playground for students but also creating a positive effect in families, schools, and society regarding the role of books and reading culture.
Through this competition, we aim to improve access to information, develop critical thinking and creativity, cultivate character, and foster a healthy lifestyle for the younger generation.
